solo 2 apr 2025Château Cos d'Estournel Dinner Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025 The name Cos refers to a "hill of pebbles" in Gascon dialect and the name Cos d'Estournel was given in 1810 by Louis-Gaspard d'Estournel. Château Cos d'Estournel produces the eponymous grand vin, the second wine since the 1994 vintage, Les Pagodes de Cos from the estate's younger vines, as well as Château Marbuzet from fruit of nearby plots. The property is adjacent to Château Lafite-Rothschild in the neighboring commune of Pauillac. Artisan is pleased to curate a tasting dinner featuring mature wines as far back as 2012. solo 5 mag 2025Giulia Negri Dinner Monday, May 5th, 2025 Dubbed “Barologirl” by the old guard in Serradenari, Giulia Negri has taken the vineyards that have been in her family for 150 years, to new heights. After completing studies in management and biology, and fresh off an inspiring trip to Burgundy where she truly began forming her palate, Giulia returned to La Morra motivated to learn all the secrets to making fine wine in her native Piemonte. She started small, releasing microcuvées under her own label, before finally taking over the totality of vineyard management and production in 2014. In the heart of the Serradenari cru of La Morra—the highest point in the Barolo zone, Giulia passionately pursues her goal of crafting Barolo with a Burgundian sensibility. In fact, she even inherited small parcels of Chardonnay and Pinot Nero that her father planted on the estate’s cooler, north-facing sites, allowing her to pay tribute to the great wines of the Côte d’Or through the lens of Piemontese soil. What she has accomplished since taking the reigns at the age of 24 is quite remarkable; the admiration received from industry professionals is undeniable. Please join us at Artisan, Southport for what is sure to be a truly unforgettable night; not only tasting the greatness of the wines, but doing so with Giulia herself.
