A true French Bistro with a warm and lively atmosphere, where you can enjoy spending time with friends. Quality products, authentic cuisine and affordable prices make Le Gourmet Bistro a must, a place where the pleasure of eating well becomes a way of life.

Some history

In June 1991 the Bistro Gourmet opens in downtown Montreal with the ambition to offer an authentic French cuisine which already favors the pleasure of eating.

In 2004, building on its success with business customers, the chef-owner Gabriel Ohana opens a private room to meet the needs of his customers and offer an intimate and friendly place to private and corporate special events.

For nearly 25 years the Bistro Gourmet has become an essential place where the pleasure of eating has become a way of life.

French chef and French service. Our server knew the menu inside and out and took care of us promptly and carefully. Loved the idea of being able to bring my own wine and tipped the waiter extra for pouring. (Yes, that was a hint to future patrons!)

Great atmosphere. Good neighbourhood restaurant. Bring your own wine. Good value for your money. Excellent service and great food. Always constant, and the three of us enjoyed the tasting menu for the first time. We have been regulars from day 1, 25 years ago...

Three amigas at Au Bistro Gourmet on a Friday night had a lovely meal while catching up with each other. Our meals (bavette, chicken, pork chop) were delicious. Our server was gracious and responsive in spite of being busy with a private party upstairs. Looking forward to introducing more people to this downtown gem.
