   Had a wonderful meal that was served very promptly and efficiently! Lots of great detail and information about what we were being served! The great flavors, uniqueness, and presentation of each dish was unique. We would definitely come back and highly recommend it! The dessert was divine?

   I recall exclaiming happily mid-meal that this is my favourite tasting menu in the entire city. I have visited a number of times and every time the menu is different. The service? Always top notch. I couldn’t fault this establishment on a single thing, truly.

   Always such an amazing immersive experience at Avelo. Highly recommend if you’re open to trying new food (especially if you’re vegan). The dishes are unique, delicious and beautifully plated. Highly recommend!

   The tasting dinner at Avelo was an outstanding experience. Each dish was a labor-intensive fusing of flavors. Service was faultless and the physical space is beautiful. We loved every minute.

   We had an excellent experience. We felt well-taken care of and they went above and beyond accommodating a dietary restriction we noted when we made the reservation. The restaurant is a cozy and intimate space, tastefully appointed and comfortable. The five course tasting menu was well-designed and exceptionally tasty. Each delicious and creative plant-based course was artfully plated, and the servers took their time explaining what each was and even, when necessary, how best to eat it. We will definitely go back and would like to try the bar upstairs, where they have shareables and drinks. The dining room tasting menu will be a good special occasion option for us in the future.

   An inventive, scrumptious, collection of perfectly balanced flavours, textures, aromas, and colours. Masterful dishes served in a gorgeous, cozy dining room by welcoming, unpretentious staff. Costly, but completely reasonable for the care and effort provided. Possibly the best dining experience I've had, anywhere.

   Absolutely stunning. Easily the best meal we've had since visiting Legume in Seoul, and definitely in our top three restaurants post-pandemic (it's hard to remember pre-pandemic so I don't like going back that far). In North America, it may even be the best one! The restaurant is quite small -- 20 seats total (I counted!), of which two are four-tops and the rest two-tops, so a total of 8 tables. The evening we were there, there were a total of two front-of-house people we interacted with, both of whom were knowledgeable and friendly. The presentation, flavors, and variety of the food were all superb. This is how vegan food is meant to be, truly! We did the five-course meal, which was quite filling. That said, the next time we visit Toronto we're already thinking of how to do the eight-course -- skip breakfast; ask for just one plate for certain dishes; ...? Highly, highly recommend!

   Wow, just wow. We splurged for the 7-course (+4 amuses-bouches and dessert) and it was fantastic. Lots of innovative dishes using varied fermentation methods and great flavour combinations I never would have guessed went together. Highlights include the eggplant "cigar" and romesco filling, black-eyed pea tempeh with miso glaze and pistachio crust (I usually hate tempeh!) and the sourdough mini croissant and dehydrated beet powder on the dip. But the winner by far was the macaron. I've never had a macaron that was so smooth and with such incredible texture and Nutella-like flavour as this one! Non-vegan macarons have this grainy quality and other vegan macarons are just a little too crispy. My spouse adored the carrot cake. The birthday dessert was amazing too (won't spoil it) and service was great. The drinks were on another level - get the Cocoa & Oak, that foam is unreal! My only wish is for an option to add some more spicy and heat, but I understand many diners don't like it. This is what you want in a fine dining experience! It did not disappoint. We'll be back!

    We had the 8 course tasting menu which, n fact, is 11 separate plates when you include the small Amuse Bouche servings interspersed through the other courses. The food was amazing - creative, beautifully plated and, above all, delicious. The chef is a master of his craft, that the dishes are all vegan makes it even more impressive. The servers - Amy and Serena - enhanced the overall experience. They had a very deep understanding of each plate and were so personable that they enhanced the overall experience. One member of our party was also gluten sensitive and the restaurant accommodated them with no fuss and just a minimal change to some of the courses. Just make sure you highlight any allergies or food sensitivity with your reservation. Honestly, this is a vegan restaurant that would cater to anyone who is looking for a unique and enjoyable dining experience.
