Bab-Al-Yemen is not only a restaurant where you could find authentic Yemeni cuisine, but it is a unique experience designed to serve as a hub of Yemeni culture in the city of Boston. Named after a well-known historical landmark of Yemen, Bab-Al-Yemen serves dishes cooked in accordance with traditional Yemeni recipes using high quality ingredients.

Yemeni food is highly regarded in the Middle East for its rich flavors. Some of the staples are lamb mendi, haneeth with rice, and fahsa with freshly-baked bread. Bab-Al-Yemen is located in Kenmore Square and warmly welcomes each guest to discover and appreciate its food and hospitality.

Tasty food and nice atmosphere with attentive service. Vegetarian options are good and the servings are plentiful. Fresh baked bread is delicious

2 dinner 330 reservation, that we were graciously allowed to move forward an hour on short notice. Service was perfectly courteous, with just perfect amount of attentiveness. The Food , I can not say enough. We had the braised lamb entree, with a delicious delicate lamb broth on the side, falafel ( the best i had ever had) , mutabal which is a must if you love eggplant. Last but not least we had a wonderful hot chai like beverage but less cinnamon and more exotic cardamom and other spices, as well as the Yemin cocktail, a delicious lightly puree fruit drink with mango, dates, and pineapples subtly sweet with a richness only dates can add. Over all amazing experience, lovely interior, and eloquent service with a meal and drinks that were expertly prepared and served. I could not be happier with my experience.

This underground restaurant in Boston has a wonderful vibe, feeling surprisingly spacious despite its small size. The windows let in plenty of natural light, making the space feel open and inviting. It’s not cramped at all, and the temperature was perfectly controlled. The food was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of options, including plenty of vegetarian dishes. Lamb and chicken are showcased in creative and flavorful ways. I’d recommend ordering family-style to share and taste everything—it’s worth it! The drinks were delightful, and the service was exceptional. Everyone was so kind and attentive. The ambience adds to the overall experience, making it a fantastic spot for a meal.

The staff were unfailingly warm and kind. We had two lamb entrees, both were good but one was more flavorful than the other. The chocolate baklava was divine. We were in lower level because I had asked for a quiet table. However the tables for two are so close together that we both had a hard time hearing each other. Overall, it was a great experience and we'll go back.

Really delicious authentic Yemeni food. Generous portions and super flavorful. The staff was really friendly and made suggestions of things we might like during the meal. Also loved the floor seating!

It was the worst experience I have ever had by going to this restaurant. Absolutely all my money was wasted. These people doesn't know hoe to cook any food and their prices are hell crazy. I am never gonna go there and I am so sad for all the money I paid them. I never recommend it to anybody. Last night I went there with my family, but to taste good food, but I am so sad that I made my family to go to a place like this that only care about money.

A Lovely, Comfortable little place with very kind service. Shula (I believe) and the team there were all kind and helpful. The Food was tasty and came very quickly. We had The Eggplant dip with Pita, the meat samboosas and a Lamb shank over Rice with a tiny side salad. In hindsight I think we would have liked a bigger greener salad to start and more grilled or roasted veggies in the Main Dish but that's us. My husband enjoyed the hot sauce they brought him on the side! we sat in the Traditional area on sweet little floor pillow banquets with a low table set up infront of us. Different and fun. The Mint tea and the House Favorite Cardamom tea were both lovely too!! No Alcohol here which is fine with us but might surprise some if not familiar with the restaurant/menu. A bit bright in the lighting dept but again... that is just our issue we like a dimmer more cozy esthetic. Go and give them a try!
