An homage to owner Kris Lelcaj’s father, “babo” (slang for “dad” in Albanian) is a gourmet, all-day diner in Midtown Detroit. We will feature a menu comprised of creative, artisanal takes on comfort food classics that will be served up in a bright, lively ambiance.
We pride ourselves on carrying products of the highest quality and social responsibility from local, small batch producers.                                                                                                           We were there on a Sunday morning. This isn't our first time. Highly recommend making reservations. Food was just warm when it arrived. Wish it was hot, but I did not complain. I would come back to eat there again.

                                                                                                          The service was excellent, and the restaurant being on the smaller side means you don’t get forgotten. A couple softer surfaces might help absorb some noise, but the restaurant is comfortably at capacity which means it’s just going to be a little noisy. The drip coffee is good!! I had the avocado toast just as something lighter, and the lemon zest really added to it. My sister really liked the waffle and the spiked hot chocolate. The spiked drinks were a little pricier, but with the whole menu taken into consideration it’s just because they use quality ingredients and adjust accordingly, but fairly.

I had the crème brûlée French toast, sticky wings and an espresso martini—I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Still one of my favorite brunch restaurants in the area!

                                                                                                          We loved Babo! This was our first time. The food was delicious and a great value. We enjoyed lattes and hot chocolate and loved our chicken and waffles / Frida skillet and churros. Our waitress was great and the ambiance was very enjoyable. We will be back to try out lunch dishes!
