Bar Bombon is food for life. All of our dishes are made with plant-based ingredients. No animal products are used. And since homemade tortillas still make a better taco, we make them the old way, like abuela did.

I'd been to Bombon 2 years ago and loved the food despite the noisy atmosphere. This time Bombon disappointed on almost all counts. 1) I made reservations, yet had to wait 15 minutes in a crowded space. 2) Our waitress was friendly yet clueless. I asked what kind of herbal teas there were. She listed green and black along with herbal, apparently not knowing the difference. My husband and I asked for 1 check and our friend asked for her own check. When the checks arrived, some of my dishes were on my friend's check, and one or two items she had were on my husband's and my check. 3) The kitchen was a great disappointment. A few minutes after we ordered, the waitress returned to tell us that they were out of the Spanish rice. Or we could wait 30 minutes for a fresh batch. How is this possible? NO RICE!! Then our meal was served piecemeal. My husband got his nachos, then I and my friend got plantains a while later. My friend's tacos arrived 10 minutes after that and my corn came 10 minutes later, followed by my beans 10 to 15 minutes after that. So we each ate at different times and my first two dishes were cold by the time my last dish arrived. NOT acceptable.

The tacos were good but the service was so poor, I'm not sure I'd go back. FYI Taco Tuesday has been promoted as 4-9pm on Instagram but it was apparently only until 7pm. Another table was disappointed to find out the hours for that special had been shortened from what was previously promoted.

We went to brunch after hearing rave reviews about Bar Bombon. The menu looked amazing and they had a lot of great options for gluten-free folks, as well. The cocktails were delicious and the food was very good overall. The service started out strong but we did wait a bit for the server to come check on us and then to bring the check. It started to get crowded when we were leaving when the noise levels ramped up a bit, and some of the seating puts you close to other people. (I don't mind but others might.) Overall it was a wonderful experience and I would absolutely go back.

Visited Philadelphia to attend an event at The College of Physician of Philadelphia located on 22nd street - Bar Bombon was a short walk away. Happy to find a fun location to get vegan food beforehand. We started with a guacamole appetizer; my mom had the Grande Taco and I had the Quesadilla. Both of us fully enjoyed our meal.

What can I say - a wow brunch! Breakfast tacos, buffalo cauliflower tacos, yucca fries were awesome. Loved ending with the coconut tres leches cake. Will be back!
