    Ambiente molto particolare ed elegante con personale attento. Tuttavia niente di eccezionale nel menu. Tutto buono e curato ma in linea con il prezzo. Da provare almeno una volta.

    La locazione è carina. Ma la qualità del cibo non è il massimo. Mia moglie aveva ordinato una bistecca che non era per niente tenera. Quindi abbiamo dovuto reclamare e non è stato fatturato. La cucina è cosiddetta ”britannica moderna” - magari non molto adeguate per chi viene dal bacino mediterraneo.

    What a delight! I came in for my birthday lunch! Visiting Montreal solo for a few days and this place did not disappoint! Sparkling water and steak tartare to start, then the beef Bourguignon and a side of focaccia bread and a Pinot noir. Finished off the experience with a Kir Imperial ( similar to Kir royale)! The waiter was fantastic and did not rush me, as I sat and enjoyed my drink and read a book for a bit. What a special gem!

    what I had heard was one of the most charming spots in town. Unfortunately, my experience was soured right from the start due to the behavior of the blonde receptionist at the entrance. From the moment I walked in, her attitude was dismissive and unwelcoming. I understand that working in hospitality can be demanding, but there was no excuse for the unnecessary rudeness and lack of professionalism she displayed. I felt as though my presence was an inconvenience rather than being warmly welcomed as a guest. What made it worse was her unwillingness to provide any clear or helpful answers to simple questions about our reservation and seating arrangements. Instead, her tone was condescending, and it set a negative tone for the entire evening. That being said, the bar itself was beautifully designed, and the ambiance was lovely. The rest of the staff were attentive and kind, but it was difficult to overlook the poor first impression caused by the receptionist. I hope management takes note of this feedback because first impressions matter. A place as renowned as Bar George should prioritize hiring welcoming and professional staff at the entrance to ensure that every guest feels valued.

    Brought my daughter to Bar George for brunch and had a great time. The food, service, and ambience was great! She had the pain du perdu and i had the waffle and shared an order of sausages. Just delicious! Next time we are in Montreal we will have brunch here again!

    Bar George feels like stepping into a cozy, storybook setting. The atmosphere is intimate and charming, and we were excited for our evening. With reservations in place, we were seated in the back dining room, which was nearly empty save for one other table and two servers. At first, the service was attentive—though it was easy to expect this given how quiet the space was. We started with the steak tartare, which was incredible. We ordered the larger portion, which came with fries on the side, and it was a perfect combination. We also requested bread with butter, but our server forgot to put the order in. Initially, we tried to get his attention to remind him, but it proved surprisingly difficult. However, as we enjoyed the steak tartare and fries, we found ourselves thankful for the oversight, as the generous portions were already filling. The drinks were another highlight. I had the holiday eggnog cocktail (unfortunately, I can’t recall the exact name), but it was delicious and perfectly festive. As the evening progressed, the service started to decline noticeably. No one checked on us after the initial order. When servers came to refill our water, I asked to place a dessert order, but they claimed they were only refilling water and would pass the message to our server. They didn’t. We ended up waiting 15–20 minutes before I had to flag someone down myself. By then, a few more tables had filled the dining room, but the room was far from busy, and with two servers and extra staff for refills, it shouldn’t have been a struggle. Finally, we ordered the chocolate buckwheat dessert. I had high hopes for it, but unfortunately, it tasted overwhelmingly of plastic. It reminded me of drinking water from a new plastic bottle before it’s been rinsed. The aftertaste lingered unpleasantly, and it was a disappointing end to an otherwise great meal. When we were ready to leave, it took another 15 mins just to wait for the check. Over all 3/5.
