Bar Primi is a corner pasta shop devoted to ‘primi piatti,’ the pasta course. What began as an idea for a small space in New York's East Village has since become an essential in chef and co-owner Andrew Carmellini's range: fresh pasta traditionally prepared and cooked to order. At Bar Primi, the main course is Primi Piatti. We use a variety of non-GMO semolina and specialty ‘00’ flours, organic eggs and handed-down techniques to create our menu of Traditional and Seasonal pasta dishes. We make more than a dozen different shapes and styles daily. This includes lumache and rigatoni from our imported extruder or ravioli and mezzalune cut and filled by hand. Family recipes and secrets are traded between Carmellini and Brooklyn-born chef-partner Salvatore Lamboglia who also offers a daily meat or seafood special in addition to a selection of shareable Piccolini and Antipasti, artisanal cheese, salumi and simple home-style desserts.

Avevo richiesto con la prenotazione di tre giorni prima, un tavolo per 2 + 1 bambina vicino la finestra. La richiesta non è stata considerata in quanto sul posto ho dovuto un pochino discutere per avere un tavolo vicino la finestra molto piccolo con nessuno spazio per la bambina ma ci siamo accontentati. Rapporto qualità prezzo davvero deludente. Sono stata qui anche l’anno scorso e la situazione era migliore, in linea di massima il cibo non era così squisito come ricordavo ma nella media, anche se pagato per essere il top.

My wife and I love this restaurant - the food is amazing, wine and cocktails are great, and the service is fantastic. It’s also my go-to Italian restaurant when my gluten-free family members are visiting.

Very cute and cozy restaurant. Appeared to be a local hangout, which I always love when visiting the city. The food was good and the general vibe was very nice. There's nothing extraordinary about the menu, but it is that comfort Italian food which we were looking for. I think you'll really enjoy it. I would go again. .

We always love dining at Bar Primi, it is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is great and the atmosphere is always nice.

Very loud to the point where it becomes stressful and unpleasant. Food was very disappointing. Pappardelle were undercooked and bland.

Space was cramped for a corporate event, food incredible. Greta service from the waiter, the hostess who initially sat us was unfriendly and seemed bothered to have to interact with guests
