Bardea, pronounced: bar-DAY-ah, is the Italian term for "the goddess of food and drink." The stunning, 120-seat restaurant utilizes ingredients from local Delaware Valley farms and purveyors, and features modern interpretations of traditional Italian and Mediterranean dishes. In 2019, Bardea Food & Drink received a semifinalist nomination in the James Beard Foundation's "Best New Restaurant" category.

    The food and cocktails were wonderful. The server was great, spacing the courses properly from the lighter dishes to the heavier. His recommendations were excellent. The dinner exceeded my expectations.

    Awesome time for my wife and I wedding anniversary dinner. This is the best dining I had in Delaware by far.

    Very interesting take on Italian food as it was served tapas style. Unique flavors where sauces enhanced the protein/vegetable. Portions small relative to price charged. Expect to pay $50+/person before wine/drinks after tax/tip. Service was excellent and pacing of food good for this style. Seating was a bit cramped.

    We had 8 people for dinner and sampled a number of dishes from "snacks" to small plates to table shares (entrees) as well as several sides. Without exception, every dish was very good to excellent -- no weak entries. Even the gem salad was cold, crisp, flavorful and simply fresh tasting. Our server was personable and knowledgeable and the entire staff was very efficient and unobtrusive. The restaurant was about 3/4 full and pretty noisy -- good energy but not a place for a quiet evening. We had not been back in about 18 months and all agreed that Bardea has only gotten better.

    I celebrated my 40th birthday yesterday and the waiter presented a menu that wished me a happy birthday from the manager. She soon followed up with complimentary glasses of champagne for me and my guests! The food was more of a culinary experience and it was some of the best food I’ve ever had in Delaware. The cocktails are prepared by mixologists/bartenders that know what they’re doing. We ordered espresso martinis and lemon drops. It was an amazing experience!

    The dining experience was overall pleasant, with a notable emphasis on the quality and presentation of the dishes, befitting a fine dining establishment. However, there is room for improvement in the service, particularly regarding the efficiency of taking orders and reducing wait times. While it is understandable that the preparation of high-quality meals requires time, a more streamlined process for placing orders would enhance the overall experience.

    Food was ok, but disappointing, given what we expected. Oversalted fish and eggplant parm was little tough and chewy and sauce tasted like it came from a jar. Way overpriced for what how good it was, just disappointed in the flavor. Service was great, but charging 25 to valet park after dropping 200 on dinner is a little excessive. Tables incredibly close with club music playing too loudly.
