It's difficult to say what is most appealing about the Barking Frog - the food, the wine, the atmosphere. All of the above earned this casual bistro featuring country fresh Northwest cuisine rave reviews. Honors have included "Restaurant of the Year", "Most Innovative Wine List" and "Wine Grand Award" awards, presented by the Washington Wine Commission. Delectable dishes entice guests to linger in the light-filled dining room or to gather around the fireplace. While in the summer, lunch and dinner are served in the courtyard.

Visit our sister restaurant, Fireside Lounge, take a more relaxed approach to you day with friends and fellow guests. Serving seasonal cocktails and casual bites. Daily happy hour from 3-5:30pm. Live music during the week.

Spent New Years Eve at the Barking Frog. Food was exceptional and wine pairings were spot on. We had a pre fix menu, but each course was wonderful. Duck crudo was perfectly salty with a miso glaze, crab stuffed pasta was perfectly al dente and I haven’t had such an excellent cut of steak in a while. Lovely setting as well!

We spent an unforgettable evening at Barking Frog to ring in the New Year, indulging in their exquisite 4-course Farewell to 2024 dinner. Every detail, from the ambiance to drinks, was perfection, showcasing why this remains our favorite restaurant. The experience began with an amuse bouche that set the tone for the evening: a single, exquisite oyster topped with a delicate champagne cloud. A stunningly light and flavorful start teased the culinary delights to come. Course 1: Cured Duck Breast Carpaccio The duck crudo was beautifully balanced, its gentle saltiness enhanced by a miso glaze that added depth without overpowering the delicate flavors. Course 2: Dungeness Crab & Mascarpone Caramelle This dish was a standout. The pasta was perfectly al dente, encasing a luscious filling of Dungeness crab and mascarpone. It was a harmonious blend of richness and freshness. Surprise Course: Champagne Ice Between the second and third courses, we were treated to a surprise—a small serving of champagne ice cream. It was an unexpected delight, bursting with flavor and refreshingly refreshing as a palate cleanser. Course 3: Snake River Farms Wagyu Strip The star of the evening! The Wagyu strip was cooked to perfection, with a melt-in-your-mouth tenderness and flavor that lingered in the best possible way. This was easily one of the best steaks we've had in years. Course 4: Foie Gras Layer Cake Dessert was a decadent masterpiece—a foie gras layer cake. Each bite was an indulgent combination of sweet and savory, a fitting finale to an extraordinary meal. From start to finish, the dinner was exceptional. The setting was cozy and elegant, the perfect backdrop for celebrating the New Year. Barking Frog truly outdid themselves, the team. We got the attention of the entire crew by explaining each course in detail, and we can’t wait to return for another unforgettable meal. Highly recommend!

We have dined at the Barking Frog numerous times over the last 8 years for both dinner and breakfast. In the last two visits we have found the food preparation was off and attention to detail just not there. The flavors for both meat and vegetarian options hinged on oil and salt and not on the actual ingredients or herbs and spices. For breakfast the next day I was looking forward to the pancakes. I have been ordering the huckleberry pancakes for years and this time they arrived cold and tough with little berries in them. The breakfast menu has been dialed back with less options for different diets. The overall quality of food appears to have changed. This is a disappointment for a place that in the past has show such attention to detail and quality.

Service at the table was very good, dinner was a bit slow between courses . Food was ok , good not great. Nice experience but would not return.

The restaurant is small and lovely. The service was attentive. Food was wonderful. We’ve eaten here many times since they opened years ago and we never mind paying more for a great meal. We were, however, very surprised by the ridiculous increase in their prices. $300 for 2 salads, basket of bread, 2 glasses of wine, 2 entrees and one dessert. It was a special occasion dinner but from now on we may only go for special occasions when the cost is justified

Excellent dining experience. Hubby got wagu steak and eggs, which was perfectly cooked. My eggs bebdict was delicious. Service was excellent, and ambiance was lovely.

Love the ambiance and the service. Food was disappointing. Eggs were overcooked, vegan sausage was dry and bad, potatoes were underwhelming. Also, no vegan options unless you want to modify a couple of things.

The food was excellent, staff were very accommodating of dietary requirements and helpful with suggestions for food and drink. Highly recommended!

This was our first visit and it was wonderful! The primary reason was the food -- wonderful options with delicious features. The service was also outstanding and caused me to comment that the staff all seemed to be having fun serving us. It's not highly convenient for us (we live in Bellevue), but it's worth the trip. We'll be back!
