   It was my birthday and my wife and daughter accompanied me. It was a Tuesday evening and the restaurant wasn't very busy. Was very surprised however how limited the menu was. I'd eaten there about 2 years before, on a Saturday night, and felt the menu was much more varied. The menu stated something along the lines of them specialising in pies, and listed about 6 different pies. None were available. Also there was no rump steak; unfortunately no other beef steak was listed however, only gammon. This left a very limited menu. There were also 3 items on the specials board, if I remember . The food we had was fine, not exceptional, and the staff were friendly and reasonably efficient. The beer was very good. All in all, I was left a little underwhelmed! I'd try again, if the menu was updated. The PDF menu on the website is completely different to the one we had.

   Its a very nice pub with eating. Good ambience. Happy,helpful staff A.1 Let down a bit by food. Its a bit mundane and quality on the 2 occasions I went was not brilliant. Tired salad twice and pie on first occasion was dried up.Steak on second visit not really good quality.However the let down on food is made up by nice ambience and waiting staff who really try and are happy.

   Really disappointed 25 minutes to get a drink 45 minutes from ordering for starter and main meal sent back as it came with dressings we had requested to be left off. Fish overcooked. Full menu not available at 6 pm on Friday service slow and lacked personal touch.

   Very friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Had a problem with the gammon but they didn't charge me for it and there was absolutely no quibbling about it. I look forward to going again. Lovely pub.

   First time visit. Staff friendly. Food excellent, steak pie great. No problem recommending the Barn Owl for a meal out.

   We were expected and greeted in friendly fashion. The menu was varied and the food was good. It was a great place to have lunch with friends.

   The drink order was incorrect, the beer & wine was warm and then the food order was not as we asked even though they wrote it all down.

    Romantic meal for two. Food perfectly cooked and plenty of it. Staff very friendly and professional. Definitely go again.
