When the original Bascom came to Florida at the turn of the last century to help Henry Flagler build the Key West Railroad, he brought with him his love for thick cut chops and juicy steaks. During his travels he also discovered the bounties of fresh native Florida seafood.

We have brought all of his favorites together in a true American Chop House that pays tribute to Bascom's hearty appetite and a passion for great steaks, chops and fresh seafood.

In his honor, we have made Bascom's Chop House a comfortable, yet elegant, American restaurant. We are proud to offer a superbly crafted wine list and American Mid-Western beef, aged to our own exacting specifications to ensure the most tender and flavorful steaks served anywhere at any price. And, true to our Bascom's Chop House name, we also offer hand-cut veal, pork and lamb chops all prepared to perfection, as well as a great selection of native seafood delivered fresh daily.

    Their filet is excellent and cooked to perfection. No fat or `gristle on any slice. The creamed spinach is another delight. Thanks Shelby for doing a wonderful job of taking care of us.

    Bascom’s Chop House is one of the most vibrant, energetic, colorful places to dine that we know of. Serving absolutely delectable food , along with Cocktails from Heaven, brought to you by Jennifer’s talent, there is no place more enjoyable than Bacom’s! We had the pleasure on this visit of being served by Christian, who brought so much pleasure to our delicious evening ! He was so friendly and knowledgeable, and his timing was impeccable too! We also had Zach taking care of us, and our evening was just perfect because of them ! The whole Restaurant is run like a Luxury Cruise Ship, and all of the patrons are having such a great time!

    Food was delicious but was unhappy with lack of communication - server asked if we wanted bread (did not mention they charged for it) and when I asked to switch out my side of mashed potatoes for something else, they said there would be an “up charge” - which was no problem. Just to find out that up charge was the full price of the side and not the difference between the included option and the upgrade. They should’ve still given the mashed potatoes if they were going to charge for both. Very disappointing practices. We expect to spend a fair amount of money at these places. It’s not about the money. It’s about feeling cheated in the end to raise your bill more. They did bring out a free birthday dessert so I did not complain at the restaurant but others should be aware of how they operate there.
