Located at the "Gateway to Southtown," the Historic and Majestic Firehouse #7 is home to Battalion. After a nearly two year renovation, "The Rock" has been restored as the crown jewel of Southtown. Overlooking the spectacular downtown cityscape and the famous Tower of Americas, Battalion's contemporary design merges perfectly alongside the historic building's strong, yet weathered 1920's craftsmanship. Chef Davis has created an extensive menu of fresh pastas, char-grilled meats, stunning vegetable dishes and Italian classics. Complimenting the menu is a comprehensive wine list and a refreshingly original cocktail program.

Always a great experience. Service is great and the food is consistently good. Highly recommend the meatballs app and chicken parm.

We went here for a family dinner and had a perfect experience. The food, service and ambiance were all on point. I highly recommend the spinach dumplings, “meatballs” and the Italian salad. Sit on the patio for a very intimate and charming experience

The Battalion in downtown San Antonio is an absolute gem for a romantic date night! My wife and I celebrated our anniversary there, and it was an unforgettable experience. We started with the bread service paired with honey ricotta—soft, warm, and perfectly complemented by the creamy ricotta. The meatballs were tender and packed with flavor. For our main courses, we enjoyed the lasagna, which was rich and hearty, and the chicken parmesan served with a delightful pear salad that balanced sweet and savory beautifully. The ambiance was elegant and intimate, and the service was impeccable. Highly recommend for any special occasion!

This was my second experience at Battalion and it was just as terrific! I brought family with me this time and they all loved it. The selections are very creative and delicious! We all enjoyed the experience! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Fantastic food and service in a great location. The spinach dumplings were a table favourite, highly recommend trying. Hope to be back.

Our first time there and the food was absolutely amazing. No complaints at all. Service was lacking just a bit. Took quite a while to get a drink and we needed to remind our server about a couple of things. He was very pleasant, just seemed to have too much to do and maybe too many tables to handle. Will 100% go back.

Food was delicious atmosphere was upscale with upbeat music. We sat inside and it was loud but comfortable. Lamp chops were cooked perfectly

Lovely holiday meal on New Year’s Eve! Shared the Italian salad and had the halibut and slow-roasted carrots. Great wine selection and Nicole gave us excellent service!

An excellent meal, I thought in particular the tartare and several of the pasta dishes were excellent. It’s a cool building and a warm vibe, even with all the concrete.
