Bayberry Hollow’s journey began in 2011 whilst strolling through the picturesque village of Tanfield. We fell in love with, what was, the village pub; The Pack Horse.

Here at Bayberry Hollow our ethos is simple... Great tasting home made dishes in a relaxed dining environment with welcoming service.

Our food menu is not huge, but there will be something on there that everyone will love.

Please note serving times for food:

Breakfast: Sunday-Friday 10am-11:30am & Saturday 9am-11am

Lunch Sunday- Friday 12pm- 3:30pm & Saturday 11:30am-4pm

We still serve our Coffee, Scone & Cake menu but on a walk in basis only. No reservations for this, you will be charged for this.

All of our team are from the local surrounding area and we all pride ourselves in making each of our customers welcome and appreciated. Our newly refurbished bistro provides the perfect destination for you to relax with friends and family, we are looking forward to welcoming you in store soon!

Along with your food you can enjoy an unlimited supply of our double gold star Taste Award coffee and fine English tea, please note there is an extra charge for speciality tea or coffee. Tapas Night – 13th December Tapas Night is back! After a long wait, we’re thrilled to host an evening of Spanish-inspired dining this December. Enjoy 3 courses and a welcome glass of Prosecco to start your special night. Our set menu, priced at £37 per person, includes classic dishes like patatas bravas, Spanish meatballs, and tortilla. Guests can choose between two meat options or a vegetarian choice when booking, ensuring the perfect menu for your evening. Start with a charcuterie board, enjoy your selected main, and finish with a choice of desserts served with tea or coffee. Spaces are limited, so book early to secure your place!

Beautiful cafe, lovely attentive staff and really nice food. Gorgeous shop attached too. Was a tad cool in the cafe so wrap up warm if it’s a cold day.

Proper home cooked food. Great portions too. Excellent service. Go for the corn beef pie if you want a hearty meal.

A beautiful venue with fabulous food. The friendly staff offer a great service. Nothing is too much trouble. I can highly recommend Bayberry Hallow.

Always a great atmosphere here, pleasant and friendly staff. Food is always nice and a good choice available. Even stopping over for a coffee, a scone or cake and a mooch around the shop is worth a visit.

For years, we've loved Bayberry Hollow, a delightful tea room in a small village. The staff and service are great and the atmosphere charming. However, we've been a couple of time recently, and the scones, which before were fabulous, have been extremely disappointing. They bear little resemblance to their printed description--very bland. And each one we've ordered has been underdone. The middle was sticky. Likewise for the bread that was supplied with our soup. We were really disappointed
