Please join our restaurant, the home of Benny and Mary, world travelers with diverse menu items, and acquired decor. Featuring eccentric cuisine and craft cocktails, (including a wide selection of spirits and wine) served in our various spaces from our full-service bar and cocktail area to our picturesque Library featuring our bookcase and high ceiling chandeliers.                                           We picked Benny & Mary's for our family dinner because their online menu had a plant-based option and we were told when we called to confirm they were open on the holiday and it would be possible to order either the holiday fixed menu or items from the regular menu, such as the plant-based option since some in our family are vegans. Michael was a friendly and professional valet, which started us off well. The hosts were okay and the interior was very exciting and welcoming. It gave us high expectations for a good dinner. Edgar, our wait person was friendly and apologetic when we discovered the menu had changed. They had no plant-based options. Edgar even checked with the chef, who apparently said they have no options and cannot accommodate our request. They nearly ruined our celebratory family dinner, but we made the best of it by picking a salad and a side without any animal-based products. The holiday fixed menu was ordered by one in our party and he said it was bland and not worth the cost. My mother said the sea bass was good but she wouldn't ask to return given the high prices and limited menu. The cocktails were the highlight of the night. We might return for a happy hour, but go elsewhere for food. The drinks and the interior decorating are the best things about this place.

                                          Benny and Mary’s is a great place to have drinks and dine. The bartenders are very knowledgeable and mix great drinks. The ambiance is great with high ceilings, lighting just right and music present but not too loud. The food was great. I had the filet steak which was cooked perfectly. It has become one of my favorites.

                                          The food was superb. Our waiter was a gem. Everything we ate was served hot and well seasoned. The drinks were a 10/10. If you're in Irvine, you should give it a try.
