Best Quality Daughter houses a vibrant, chic décor and new, unique Asian-American menu. In 2018, chef Jennifer Hwa Dobbertin, wanting to address the sparsity of Asian-American female chefs in South Texas, developed a new concept through a series of pop-up dinners called Best Quality Daughter with fellow chef Anne Ng and artist Jennifer Ling Datchuk. Today Best Quality Daughter is located in the historic Mueller House at the Pearl Brewery. Curated by chef Jennifer Hwa Dobbertin, Best Quality Daughter's menu takes inspiration from her travels and the comfort food of her youth as a second-generation Chinese-American.

    Second time here ever. Last time we were here was during the first few months it was open. In that time, the back of the house has refined what approachable asian fusion is all about. We started with marinated young bamboo (was not a fan, but my daughter loved it), impossible potstickers, creamy coconut tom yun noodle, and wok fired green beans. The star of the show was the tom yun noodles. I’d order them again, but not to share. As small plates were still on the table, the family style dishes were served (as we requested, “bring it when ready). We had the dan dan noodles and pork fried rice. The fried rice could have been served in a food stall in Ho Chi Min City. Seriously. That good. The dan dan noodles had an amazing flavor, but the wide noodles were one big clump. It was the only misstep of the night. Don’t skip the bar offerings. I drank a couple All the tea in China, described as an less sweet arnold palmer. Perfect. One member drank an above my pay grade, while the other member drank the nightshades. We’ll be back. Hopefully later this year, rather than later this decade.

    My brother was in town which made for a great excuse to try Best Quality Daughter. Everything on the menu looked delicious but we were trying not to over eat so we decided to split 3 Smallish items and one Family Style. Ordered the Mochi Hush Puppies, Burrata, Impossible Potstickers and Salt & Pepper Shrimp which was still more than we needed. Service was fast & friendly, food was very tasty and since we got there before 6, Happy Hour pricing made the drinks an excellent value. I can’t wait to go back and try more menu items.

    Wonderful experience food was absolutely amazing the dining room where they sat us was perfect. Definitely would recommend everyone to go!!! Food was phenomenal

    Superb. Sublime. The best food we haven’t eaten on our visit to SA thus far. Can’t recommend it enough.

    Came here to celebrate a birthday. It was a Monday around 3 PM so very quiet. Our waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable about all the food choices and the menu spread.  the staff was very kind in their birthday wishes to me. Food was impeccable. It was a family style shareable with large portions. I got the cashew chicken dish and the pork belly spread. We got three appetizers, the eggrolls, potstickers, Barata cheese dish . Needless to say we were left beyond stuffed when we left the establishment. Amazing experience thank ya’ll so much for having us.
