This beautiful, historic room - located on the first floor of our York tea room - is steeped in history and provides the perfect setting for our most exquisite afternoon tea. You'll be serenaded by our pianist as you enjoy a selection of savouries, indulgent sandwiches, specially selected teas and irresistible dainty cakes and scones. Festive afternoon tea upstairs in the Belmont Room was all very lovely but it’s expensive for the volume of food.

I had a delightful afternoon tea at Betty's Tea Room that exceeded all expectations. The ambiance was charming, with elegant decor and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The selection of teas was superb, perfectly complemented by freshly baked scones served with clotted cream and homemade jam. The assortment of finger sandwiches was fresh and flavorful, while the pastries, particularly the chocolate macrons and were exquisite. The attentive staff provided impeccable service, making us feel truly special. Overall, Betty's Tea Room offers a magical experience that combines tradition with culinary excellence—an absolute must-visit for tea lovers!

Beautiful surroundings, gorgeously presented, a very special treat. All staff encountered were friendly, professional and a credit to Betty’s. Thank you. Wonderful booked festive / Christmas afternoon tea in the Belmont room at Betty’s in York.

We had a delicious vegan afternoon tea and were well looked after. It's fantastic to have live music from a pianist too. Thank you to all the staff

Excellent place to spend an evening. Food and tea were really good, refined and plentiful. Service was outstanding and there was nice soft live piano music creating a wonderful atmosphere. I would definitely suggest a visit to Bettys whenever you travel to York.

A great experience. We found the first pianist to be a little loud but the second one pitched things far better. Food was great. For me, I thoroughly enjoyed the occasion but I think it is quite expensive
