                                                                                                                  We were looking forward to eating at Bice after reading about the restaurants history and looking at the menu. My husband and I mentioned up front that we were celebrating a special occasion but it didn’t end feeling close to special. Our waiter Tony let us know they were not connected to Universal or Portofino Hotel. After hearing that a red flag went up and we should have left. My caesar salad ($16)was large and tasteless as if the dressing was watered down. The caprese salad ($19)had a nice mozzarella but the tomatoes were paper thin. One entree was spaghettoni allo scoglio. It was mountain of thick spaghetti but you had to go fishing to find the seafood which was in short supply on the plate. ($38) The other entry was branzino Mediterraneo with roasted root vegetables. In this case our waiter suggested I skip the mashed potatoes and get more root vegetables which came out as a plate FULL of roasted potatoes upon which the skin on fish sat.. with its tail. ($47) The fish was dry. Even I know how to use a meat thermometer. The restaurant was 85% empty, but they chose to seat 6 guys at a table next to us. Don’t get me wrong, I like to get loud but at the pub or a game! I came close to asking to move us to another table but just decided to finish, give a basic 20% tip and leave. The last straw was when Tony tossed the bill on our table. Buyer beware!

                                                                                                                  Thought it would taste real Italy, probably had too high expectations for a resort in USA. Lobster tail was the best of our 4 meals. Nice atmosphere though.
