Bistro Casanova is smooth, elegant, exquisite and fun. A tropical landscaping refreshes the air surrounding the outside al fresco tables. Bistro Casanova offers Mediterranean fare, its roots coming from the Cinque Terre in Italy where the owner comes from. Its menu reaches some classic of the European cuisine: Paella for two, Cioppino, Focaccias, Grigliata plates of grilled meat or fish large enough to share, prime cuts of steaks are between the favorites, next to an excellent selection of pastas and fresh salads. Locally grown ingredients are used extensively, as well as the freshest fish from Maui's ocean. Bistro Casanova is a favorite for Happy Hour relaxation, watered by specialty martinis and carafes of mojito and margaritas.
Tapas (available after 4pm) can be a tasty complement to your drinks, an opening line for your dinner, or dinner itself. At dinner, Bistro Casanova is a romantic destination for meals before a show or the perfect stop before flying out of Maui.

Food OK, service was terrible. Waited nearly 25 minutes for Calamari appetizer. We asked for cocktail sauce or marinara sauce. They didn't have cocktail sauce and would charge $1.50 for marinara sauce - really?? Caesar salad as well as ravioli were non-descript. Waited 20 minutes for the bill after asking for it. When we left, there were only 3-4 tables occupied, so not sure why we couldn't get the bill in a timely manner. Won't be going back

I reserved a table for dinner on a Saturday night. The photos make it seem like it's got nice, Italian restaurant ambience. We should have known when we walked in and the music was too loud. 7pm dinner, waitress tells us she can't offer bread because there are only dried ends remaining. My husband's spinach salad had 3 beet slices and 3 half strawberries and was overpriced for the small portion he was served. Usually, salads have plenty of greens and toppings. On a positive note, the eggplant was good. Overall, a disappointing dinner. There are better options, I'm sure.

My favorite Italian restaurant in Maui is Bistro Casanova. They consistently serve quality food at reasonable prices. To top it off, their happy hour drink prices make it an incredible deal. We often use Bistro Casanova as our starting point for a night out at the MACC or IAO Theatre since it's located within a 15-minute drive to both venues.

Thank you for being your favorite! That's exactly where we like to be....we got the pre-show dinner event together. It adds such a level of pleasure to the theater experience....a good meal, a good glass of wine and then the show. Life is beautiful.

Bistro never disappoints! Proof was when we took Italian friends raved praise from the wine to caprese to fettuccine carbonara to tiramisu - prepared fresh acc to owner Giovanni!

It's always a great pleasureto host Italian travelers dropping by, often skeptic about "real Italian" food in Hawaii. Yes, sometime it's good to remind my cooks that we have to climb high mountains (or cross large oceans) to get their approvals...Glad we accomplished that with your guests and thank you for hosting young non English speaking Italians. I could feel how much they loved to hear their own language and to eat their own food. Let's do it again. So much fun for me and them!
