   Outstanding experience at Bistro Francais. Could not fault anything. Food was absolutely delicious. Will dine there again when next in Adelaide. Fabulous find.

   Delicious food, we had the feed me option, and couldn’t finish everything, the amount of food and the quality was amazing!

   The food was delicious - standouts were the French onion soup and chocolate sphere for dessert. Lovely ambience and drinks selection. Would recommend!

   Much improved ambience in the new location. Lighting is a bit too bright in the right side room though. Very impressed with the quality and flavour of the food. They also made a perfect French Martini. Pre dinner drinks were a little slow, but worth the wait. Some great wines. We enjoyed a very affordable $68 Pinot Gris from SA. Many of the French wines are expensive, $120 to $180 and staff not familiar with them. Perhaps add a few more wines round the $60 to $80 mark. Overall a very enjoyable evening with polite and friendly staff.

   We have eaten here many times before and at all times we have had a wonderful experience, however, this time our experience was not so great, so not sure if there are new owners, as restaurant location had changed. The service was not good, we waited to get service for drinks, once ordered we waited over half an hour to receive our bottle of champagne after asking multiple time and up to an hour to receive our main course after again asking how long the service would be. Overall a disappointing experience.

   Lovely food, good service. A pleasant experience. The prawns were a stand out. The cheese souffle, even though not as nice as a previous visit, was ok. Chicken parfait a lovely start to our meal & that chocolate sphere was amazing!!

   We decided on two larger courses, the beef cheeks and the cassoulet. The beef cheeks were tender and slightly caramelised and accompanied by a potato puree and baby roasted carrots. The bourguignon sauce was sumptuous. Delicious comfort food in every sense of the word. The cassoulet was also a winner, a crispy, succulent duck leg on a bed of tender haricot beans flavoured with ham, pork sausage and thyme. We enjoyed the tasty garden salad and French fries with this. Both courses were very generous. Two of my friends couldn't eat it all. My piece de resistance was the colourful and delicately constructed dessert. Pistachio flavoured custard was sandwiched between puff pastry slices with raspberries. Gorgeous to look at, easy to eat and not overly sweet. The passionfruit souffle was also a triumph, warm and luscious. The wine list was good, local and French wines were available. We drank a dry, creamy Fumey-Chatelain Cremant du Jura Blanc which was not sweet enough for one of my friends. Hover I enjoyed it with the my main course. The coffee was excellent.

   Took a long time before order was taken. Two waitresses looking around but failed to notice I was holding both menus until the Japanese bloke finally noticed - at near 8pm from a 7.30 start. Asked for another wine when about 1/2 way through my meal - not received until about 5 minutes after I had finished the meal. Japanese bloke seemed pretty switched on but the girls were a bit vague - got sharing plates delivered - usually a big plus in other circumstances - except we'd specifically said we were not sharing - apart from the potatoes and the broccolini. That last not a big deal just shows staff not listening well. It was a little bit busy but staff could have been more attentive - particularly when I see they're looking around but not asking, 'am I ready to order?" when I have 2 menus in my hand. PS My partner's duck entree seemed a little tough to cut. I really believe that with some dishes - like duck - that steak knives should be offered - whereas if steak is served and steak knives are required - it's probably not a very good steak

    I can't recommend Bistro Français highly enough - quite apart from the excellent service and deliciously authentic French food, they were incredibly understanding when one of our party was held up & could only come 30 minutes later ... fabulous place to eat, we'll be back 😁
