   SPOT ON as always. Dined at Bistro many times when living in Durham for 50 years. Now we go to Bistro to dine with friends whenever we visit Durham. Reliably GOOD😊

   Splendid place and welcome. Large range of daily specials and beautifully cooked classics Wide choice of wines Linen clothes make such a difference Suggest booking as a busy place A real gem

   We had a table booked for 7pm and were kept waiting outside with around 15 other people who were also booked for 7pm. After 25 minutes and not a single person coming out to speak to us, we left and went elsewhere. I can’t understand the point of a booking system and then getting things so drastically wrong. Overbooking happens. But by this many people? And not coming to check on anyone was just really poor.

   On arrival we were welcomed and our table was ready. Good service and excellent food. It’s always a great experience eating here. 👍👍

   We had a fantastic meal and really enjoyed our evening. It was our first time in Durham and we had explored the city Centre looking for dinner options. The bistro was a little bit further away but absolutely worth the walk. We focused on the specials menu and were delighted with our dishes. This is a proper family run restaurant, with a lovely relaxed atmosphere and lots of locals who clearly appreciate what it has to offer. It’s a little taste of Italy in the north of England. Thanks to the whole team for a really fine experience, it reminded us of wonderful holidays.

   New to this restaurant and a visitor to Durham, so chose this based on other very positive reviews. From the outside it doesn’t look like much but when inside it feels very welcoming and vibrant. It had a lovely atmosphere, very cosy, food choice was fantastic, our meals were very big but delicious. It was extremely busy for a Monday night, obviously very popular, so glad I’d booked. I will definitely be visiting again when next in Durham.

    Wonderful Christmas Day, Tony is a lovely man, the staff were very attentive, the food was very good! The salmon was incredible, and the vegetarian ravioli was amazing!! It was a cosy lovely atmosphere, greeted with drink on arrival, Christmas crackers, very busy with lovely fellow guests. I would highly recommend this restaurant it’s a hidden gem. We will definitely be visiting again when I’m in the area. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
