Here is the background on the makeup of our Restaurant.The Bistro was born in September of 2002. Owned and operated by Declan Hoctor, Executive Chef: Paul Hughes, and John & Angela O’Sullivan of Roly’s Bistro of Dublin (Ireland). Our Fare is American with a European flair. Executive Chef, Paul Hughes trained in the Savoy Hotel in London for 9 years as well as Roly’s Bistro in Dublin, two of the most respected hostelries in Europe. Roly’s in Dublin was voted Restaurant of the year for 2010, also voted Chef of the year. Our team of Chef’s has won numerous competitions, and awards representing restaurant & country for their creative and inventive food. We love what we do! Just remember!

    Unfortunately, our dining experience last night was less than ideal. The restaurant was busy but there were plenty of tables available. We were seated immediately and served drinks right away. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. She explained the specials and requested our complete order right away. I asked her if we could order appetizers first before we ordered our meal, we were not in any rush and wanted to sit, relax and enjoy our drinks. She said it was company policy to take the complete order "but don't worry we will not rush your meal. I'll delay placing you're order until you're ready. I'll make sure you have time to enjoy your drinks". We decided to skip the apps and just ordered a salad and entrees. Approximately 1 minute later, no exaggeration, our salad showed up. I placed it off to the side. We sat and had our drinks for around 15 minutes before eating our salad. Immediately after finishing our salad our entrees arrived. My lamb shank was warm not hot. My wife's meal was OK. Both seemed to be cooked ahead of time and stored under a heat lamp. We understand that placing our complete order is more efficient for the kitchen but not necessarily for the customer. However, we expect better for a $200 meal including tip, especially when we told the waitress we didn't want to rush. As a past restaurant owner I recommend that all restaurants stop this policy and return to focusing on the customers complete dining experience. If we had been allowed to order our way, we would have spent more $ and left happy.

    For a New Year celebration with a fixed menu the restaurant did little to make it festive. The food was marginal. A fixed menu with up charges for certain items ?

    Very good time. Especially considering how crazy this night can be. Staff did an excellent job.

    The Bistro should be embarrassed. I have eaten there many times and I’m used to a high standard of food, service and ambience. They put a bunch of small two person tables on the outdoor corridor so close together that you couldn’t move. The meal was very over priced and after 2 hours we took our dessert home to eat. It was definitely over booked and usually is a very good place to have a great dinner! Sorry

    A wonderful place to enjoy New Year’s Eve! Our dinners were superb, thanks to those making the reservations our table was delightful, and the service was great.

    We sat outside which was very nice - food is good not great - I ordered a glass of wine when ordering my dinner and had to ask for it when my dinner arrived - the most disappointing was that my husband was still finishing his dinner and the staff cleared everyone else’s plates from the table - we did not stay for dessert

    ORDER WAS WRONG, TOOK 15 MINUTES, FOR THE PROPER DISH, TWO DISHES WERE COLD AND DRIED OUT. MANAGER WAS ARGUMENTATIVE AND RUDE, REFUSED TO MAKE ANY COMPENSATION. WILL NEVER GO BACK

    We accept the error in ordering veal instead of snapper. Luis visited the table and apologized, saying we could have a snapper in 5-6 minutes. Mr. Klein agreed. We delivered in 5-6 minutes and it was refused. Mr. Klein had had a Caesar salad and a duck to start. Neither the Veal or the Snapper were charged. I visited the table, Declan, to explain that neither dish was charged for. Mr. Stein only accepted this when Mr. Klein agreed that it was not. At this point Mr. Stein suggested that other food was cold, and felt he should be further compensated. We disagreed. We built our reputation over 23 years, with visitors from Ballen Isles, and look forward to welcoming them, back to judge us themselves on future and past experiences, and hope the Stein's and the Klein's change their minds.

    We both had the Sea bass which was delicious. Our cocktails were generous and tasty. Vinny our waiter was excellent.
