   Didn’t know quite what to expect but food and service was excellent. Was open kitchen so also an excellent chat to the chef as well

   Our main course was baked Tuna with sauce. It was the best fish dish we have ever tasted. The Chef is a genius. Our lively waiter also provided excellent service. This is a restaurant we will return to often.

   Black bottle is one of those hidden gems that you find and know you will leave having enjoyed an amazing meal with friendly service. The food is exquisite and great value.

   As always, a wonderful experience - delicious food, great cosy ambience, and friendly and attentive staff. I have been coming to Black Bottle for years and have never been disappointed. Whether I’ve come as part of a large group (15+) or as one of a couple, my consistent experience has been that Black Bottle serves amazing French food without the pretentiousness (and high prices) of most French restaurants in the Sydney area. The menu is not huge but spans a wide range of tastes, with appealing vegetarian options, and the chef is happy to accommodate dietary restrictions wherever possible. The Chef’s Selection (actually *your* choice of starter, main, dessert plus a glass of wine) is excellent value for money, and you would be very hard pressed to find food of this high quality at this price anywhere in Sydney. All in all, I cannot recommend Black Bottle highly enough - give them a try and you might find them becoming your go-to French restaurant (as I did!).

   The Thursday menu was based around a most delicious chicken with rice and mushroom sauce. The restaurant was well attended to, and the atmosphere was very happy.

   The Steak was excellently cooked and came with fried potato strips and vegetable side pate. The service was very attentive and helpful.

    The duck and the veal were cooked to perfection and the escargots had a wonderful garlic sauce with them. The creme brulee was also memorable. The ambiance at the garden area on the summer night was enchanting.
