A hit and miss experience at Blaq last night.. Tasty cocktails, excellent service, good wine selection. However the food was a let down. Minimal selection from the menu (around 6 mains options, 1 sold out), choice of only 2 sides dish options (sprouts and salad - sprouts were delicious, by the way.. salad was nothing to write home about). But no carb options as sides... I asked if I could get a serve of chips due to this, but that was declined due to selling out (our table was reserved at 6:30pm, so an early booking). I suggest a review on the menu.. possibly adding more to it for a start, so if meals run out before 6:30pm the guests have more selection. And please add a carb option for the sides.. I was looking for food when I arrived back home. Not what I was expecting after a meal out. Blaq is an awesome restaurant. I hope management are proud of their staff. The restaurant looks awesome too... Just a little improvement on the menu, please.

The menu even though small was excellent, the staff very friendly and efficient, but not intrusive. Definitely recommend this restraint for anybody in the area.

The restaurant was perfect - a quiet intimate setting with excellent food. The staff were friendly and polite, which is something we always look for. Highly recommend Blaq for any occasion.

Food was fabulous as always Very generous portions There were 4 in our party and everyone was very happy with choices available Also have a great wine selection and awesome cocktails

Cocktails to start were delicious, entree, mains and desert were so fresh, amazingly well cooked and delicious. Staff were very attentive & knowledgable. All round great experience

The design, ambience, menu and drinks menu were exemplary. We enjoyed every minute, every mouthful. A very lovely dining experience.

Blaq came with good reviews so I booked it for our 33rd Anniversary Dinner. When we arrived (on time) we were kept hanging about in the cacophonous main dining area. The (eventual) waitress was charming (but had no idea what a kir royale is) and kindly moved us to the less noisy terrace, though this was inadequately provided with mosquito deterrents, so it was purgatory....The food was OK (if pricey), as were wines by the glass (some interesting). Nothing was said about the Anniversary after all.... We won't be dining there ever again and have told all our friends that the place does not deserve the accolades (posted by some). Something about 'resting on their laurels' perhaps?
