   As a customer who has been here before, my most experience was subpar. Food mediocre at best. While the service started out ok, it got progressively worse. Waiting for a server to come back with a check was near impossible. I did get their attention by letting the seating person know if we didn’t get our check in 5 minutes, we were leaving. Amazing how that did the trick. They have lost two customers.

   We wanted to love this especially after friends we invited told us on the way in that they’d been here for brunch and ur wasn’t great. Backlit tables and ambiance are beautiful. It ends there. Tables are cramped waaaaaay too close together. Service is curt and prepare to ask for things multiple times. Good was just ok - and the lamb chops you pay $12 more for in the mixed grilll was one sad little really tough lamb chops. You have so many other choices. Skip this one.

   The place was so noisy we could hardly have a conversation. Turn the damn music off. No one is listening to it and it just adds to the overwhelming noise level. The place was VERY busy and a bit chaotic. We have to keep asking for things--like can you bring the bread with the hummus and what about the cut vegetables. And ah the martini was dirty---I didn't ask for dirty. Aside from the the food was delicious and the wait staff very personable. But we won't be returning on a Saturday night.

   We ordered club soda and lemon when we arrived. The restaurant was out of club soda. They were out of the artichoke appetizer. We ordered the watermelon and tomato appetizer and there was gigantic chunks of tasteless watermelon and no tomatoes. And I sent back my negroni because it had too much campari. Not a good night at Blue Mezze.

   Dinner for 2 was $248. We had 4 appetizers, 1 shared entree, 1 shared dessert, 3 glasses of wine. Wait staff friendly and pretty attentive. Avocado Feta Dip sounded great, but tasted just like strong blue cheese. Asked waiter if blue cheese in dip, he said many customers ask that but kitchen insists it is just feta, well it is not any feta i have ever tasted. shrimp appetizer was in oily tomato sauce. Shrimp were small and tasteless. Zucchini pancakes were soggy and topped with too much very sweet tomato/sauce/paste. Octopus appetizer was excellent. Appetizers served woth warm, tasty pitas. Salmon entree was cooked perfectly and delicious, asparagus was stringy and overcooked, "risotto" side was not risotto, it was tasteless long grain rice in a sauce but not arborio as risotto should be. Fried Kataifi Ice Cream Ball was a disappointing dessert for $18, soggy pastry stuffed with vanilla ice cream, no taste of honey or pistachios. Wine per glass prices were high, but guess that NY these days. Small outdoor dining space was lovely on a spring evening. Evening was enjoyable, but meal disappointed.

    Service was excellent. We sat in the front of the restaurant and watched out the excitement outside. Food was food we ordered from the lunch special we each ordered a drink not knowing price. The cost was over what we paid for one meal.
