   BLUFIN Waterfront Grill – A Disappointing Experience Despite the View Service Issues From the moment we arrived, the service left much to be desired. We were completely ignored at the entrance while another couple who arrived after us was promptly greeted and seated. Once we were finally seated, we were not offered a menu or even a glass of water. We watched as guests who had arrived well after us were not only attended to but had their food served while we still had not been acknowledged. After sitting for nearly 20 minutes with no service, I finally had to walk into the bar to ask for a menu and explain the situation. Only then did anyone seem to notice us. Food and Ambience Despite the frustrating service, the food at BLUFIN Waterfront Grill was excellent. I ordered the flatbread, and it was absolutely delicious, with a perfectly crispy crust and flavorful toppings. My husband had the fish and chips, and we both agreed it was the best we’ve ever had—crispy, golden batter with tender, flaky fish inside. The waterfront location is undeniably beautiful, with a relaxing atmosphere and stunning bay views. Whether you're seated indoors with large windows or outside on the patio, the setting is perfect for a laid-back dining experience. Unfortunately, the lackluster service significantly detracted from what could have been a truly enjoyable meal. **Final Thoughts** While BLUFIN Waterfront Grill has the potential to be a great dining destination, the lack of basic hospitality left a lasting negative impression. A beautiful setting and great food mean little when guests are ignored. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this restaurant unless management takes some steps to improve the service.

   They did not accept our reservation. The receptionist stated they over booked and stated it would’ve been a 2 hr wait from our reservation time. Epic failure and a long drive just to be turned around even though I had reservation.

   Bad experience for Valentine's day. Attempted to try new restaurant but wasn't able to eat here. Had reservations at 815pm unfortunately there was NO FOOD when we arrived. Guests waiting over an hour for food truck to arrive. No hostess to even tell us. Waited at hostess stand before another angry guest informed us as we're waiting in line for hostess.

   The restaurant was not prepared for the reservations they had accepted. The staff was very overwhelmed since they were understaffed. Waited at least 20 minutes before someone acknowledged the people in line. We decided to just go to the bar to wait for a table which we were never called to get a table. Ended up eating at the bar. Not much of a romantic dinner at a bar and we still waited for an hour for our meal. And $15 to park. Unimpressed.

   The service was absolutely terrible. The hostess was saying it was going to take 20-30 minutes for reservations to be sat which is absurd. This makes sense after the amount of time it took for the food to get to the table. They obviously shouldn’t have taken that many walk-ins or reservations because the kitchen couldn’t handle it. We eventually got sat after the hostess went to talk to a manager after someone said they could seat us now. Many many tables were open. Once we sat down, the server was very welcoming and apologized for the hostess not bringing any menus. There weren’t enough menus to the point they had to print and staple some together. Someone nearby us even asked to borrow ours. Everyone was bonding about how long the food was taking and we were all laughing together trying to pass the time. Eventually, people started just leaving. After an hour of sitting in an uncomfortable chair, we decided to move to a nearby booth, the best decision ever made. We got appetizers at 7:30. Keep in mind our reservation was at 6:30. Food came out at 8 p.m. Then it took another 30 minutes to get our check after we were done eating. I had asked someone to get our check and he mumbled and then proceeded over to the computer. Does absolutely nothing and makes a drink, we decided we were done and got up and asked again for our check. The waitress acted like nothing was wrong and said “Are you ready for your check?” I’ve been ready for the past 30 minutes thanks though. We left and won’t be coming back again. Don’t go to this restaurant unless you want to be here for three hours or until they learn their lesson and hire more staff and cooks.

   Total mistake trying to eat here on Valentines Day. We took a 6:00 reservation and arrived about 5:55. Although the place didn't look that busy, it took them about 15 minutes to seat us, all the while apologizing that they were really busy. I guess they were, because it took them another 30 minutes to come take our food order. About 30 minutes after that, one of the waiters came by and asked us to confirm what we had ordered, after guessing wrong about my order. After another 30 minutes had gone by with no sign of our food or anyone showing up to check on us or let us know what was happening, we finally decided to leave. It took another 10 minutes to find a waitress to flag down at the front door (the maitre'd was nowhere to be found for that whole time) so we could let someone know that we were leaving. So, we never did get to eat there, and to top off the evening we got stuck for a $15.00 fee for parking in their lot. I don't know what their problem really was, but they shouldn't have been that backed up in the kitchen for a 6:00 reservation, and if they were expecting such a big crowd that they couldn't handle then they shouldn't have taken our reservation in the first place (I only made it a couple of days in advance). There were plenty of other places that said they had no reservations available at that point - I wish these folks had been one of them.

   The Blufin restaurant was a pleasant surprise since we weren't staying at the hotel. The food was flavorful and excellently prepared, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the ambiance was perfect as the property is set on Rocky Point on Tampa Bay.

    You should go here if you want to be by the water because the food is just ok. I'm not sure that you can expect much more from a hotel restaurant. Our waiter was excellent, but the food was cafeteria level at best.
