We've been to Kansas City over 20 times. People rave about this place. Now that I've been, I have no idea why. I made a reservation for Christmas Eve. We showed up about 10 minutes early. The host said they would "check on our table" then proceeded to seat 3 other parties ahead of us over the next 20 minutes. When we asked for an update, it was clear that they had forgotten about us even though we were standing right next to the host stand. The host was uncommunicative and rude. The server we had was great, even though he was clearly VERY new as he delivered us the setup plate for lettuce wraps without the actual filling. When we asked where the filling was he became very confused and said he needed to ask the chef what else comes with the lettuce wrap plate. The food was very disappointing. Nothing to write home about: BIG but bland crab puffs, slimy Dan Dan noodles, and very mediocre lettuce wraps. The prices were reasonable but I really expected more from such a KC staple. Maybe it was an off day but I've worked in the restaurant industry for 20 years and Christmas Eve is a day to be on your top game. We did not have a good experience and will not be returning.

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve meal at Bo Ling’s on the Plaza. The hostess staff were friendly and accommodating, the server was excellent and the food was so good we almost didn’t have any leftovers to bring home. Thank you all! We will be back.

Food was EXCELLENT!!! They are doing a remodel so ambiance was so so at the moment! Joseph and Daniel (the bartender) were ABSOLUTELY amazing!!!!!!! Thank you for the fun and food!

The food was excellent. I hadn't been there since 1982. The waiter was awesome. Knowledgeable and very friendly

Thank you, Kevin, for a lovely pre-Thanksgiving (Wednesday night) dinner! I grew up going to Bo Ling's, and it was so nice to be back!

The pineapple fried rice with seafood was excellent. One order was enough for 3 people!

Thoroughly enjoyed our choices. Great service. Had been a while since we ate at the restaurant. Take out is great but dining in better.
