                                                                                                          As a former Cocktail slinger, hospitality worker and server, I was very upset to see a "Kitchen Appreciation Fee" of 2% added to my check. Not the amount - the principle. Servers tip out kitchen staff at the end of every shift along with runners, bussers, hosts, and bartenders at their own volition, based on how they have been supported in that service throughout their shift. It's a whole team - whoever pulls their weight, benefits. The weakest link gets cut from the team. Kitchen staff make a higher wage than servers do. The minimum wage in Boston is even higher than anywhere else in the Commonwealth. Good - they need that protection, because of the cost of living in that city. But: Kitchen staff are not taxed on sales, the same way that waitstaff, bar staff, and deli counter sales staff are. 2% feels suspiciously like the CC transaction fee applied at the credit card terminal which is supposed to be billed to the vendor (Bostonia PH) - that seems more like the cost of doing business, the privilege of being able to accept that form of payment, being able to offer that additional benefit to customers. They are potentially passing that cost on to the customer - and may be calling it "for the benefit of" someone else (between 1.5% and 3.5%) Check your next Theater ticket receipt, while you're at it. Our food was delicious, the staff was incredible, atmosphere was captivating. I tipped 25%, but would have tipped 30% if I thought it was actually going to our server. Greed in Business is really ugly, especially when it impacts a server's ability to pay rent, cover the cost of a course at UMASS or feed their own children. I don't want to be dramatic - just trying to be real from a "lived experience" POV. I would suggest: whatever you want to tip - don't do it on your credit card - leave it in cash. Let the server decide how much to claim - and call the owners out, whenever you can. Your Hollandaise is lovely, your potatoes are velvet, Javi is a dream :)

                                                                                                          We had a really great meal on New Year’s Eve. Our waitress was nice and made sure everyone was taken care of. Our food was delicious and the oysters were perfect.

                                                                                                          Excellent service and great ambiance. We were slightly disappointed by the unexpected NYE menu changes, but we opted for the Lobster Rangoons — well cooked but a little too salty. My boyfriend said his burger was good but not great.. but he also had his mind set on the steak frites from the normal menu. I personally loved my entree, I got the roasted chicken and it was spectacular — plus I got 2 meals out of it! Will definitely go again.

                                                                                                          I was excited to try this place but was very underwhelmed. Wings were ok, blue cheese was watery. Had the hot lobster roll, tasted like it was sitting under a heat lamp in the kitchen , very dried out. Crab dip was overly waterly. No refills on drinks offered. Had a much better meal and service at a burger joint for half the price. Service just wasn't on point either.

                                                                                                          Food was good, hot well seasoned and as expected. Drinks were also generous and reasonably priced. Service was poor. Waited at least 10 minutes before being greeted, had to go to the host to ask about a server while multiple employees (later to find out, including our server) were talking by the service bar. Once the server came over he was devoid of personality and seemed bothered we were there. We got very little service from him at all. It was unacceptable. Spending $50+ per person should include polite, friendly, timely service.
