Welcome to Bourbon & Black a ground breaking new Kitchen & Bar situated in Didsbury Village, Manchester. Our ground floor bar and terrace takes it’s inspiration from “Bourbon” and American whiskeys, from eras both old and contemporary, specialising in unique and rare Bourbons, Rye and Sour Mash Whiskeys as well as a list of exclusive cocktails. A walk up the stairs leads to our first floor restaurant with theatre kitchen and eclectic lofty surroundings. Our open “Black” coal and wood burning flame grill is inspired by primitive cooking methods using locally sourced and seasonal products including a selection of meats, fish and bird. Chef’s Specials include slow cooked melt-in-your-mouth dishes as well as specials from our Smoker “Elizabeth” and a Bourbon & Black signature steak. We are Bourbon & Black… With everything else

Great night, food was lovely and the place had a nice and relaxed vibe. The only criticism I have is that afterwards I liked the Facebook page and saw a promotion was running to try the new menu and receive a discount if you came between certain times. We were a bit disappointed this wasn't offered to us when we got to the actual resturant but overall it was good

Nice drinks but could do some midweek offers on food or drinks. Food took a long time to come not many options for veggies Not great value for money.

The restaurant got busier as the evening progressed and had a great atmosphere. The food was delicious; recommend the steak. Service was a tad slow at times but the place did get pretty packed. Waiting staff were always very friendly and were happy to accommodate substitutions.

We have visited the restaurant on three other occasions , and have previously been very very happy with the food and service and recommended to others . We were not as happy with the food on our most recent visit, I am not sure if the menu has been changed. I asked for no cheese on a burger, yet it arrived with cheese, this was replaced fairly quickly however the burger was not hot enough when it arrived . My husband had a pulled pork sandwich which had an accompanyment of cold red cabbage, he did not note this on the menu, this had a negative affect on the flavour and also reduced the temperature of the food. From our most recent visit I wouldn't recommend

We had a lovely evening with our son and his girlfriend, the food was amazing. The wine was recommended by the waitress which was also very good. A great night out.

a group of 12 of us went to bourbon and black for a hen do, our waitress was fantastic as was the food, will definitely be going back.

The decor was very fitting for the menu. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the service was very good - gave you enough time to enjoy your drinks and chat between courses but not enough time to wonder where your food was. The foot itself was incredible the burgers were huge service with twice cooked chips and toasted brioche burger buns. The vegetarian burger was cooked to perfection and utterly delicious. We went for the chocolate pave pudding with salted caramel sauce and peanut butter dust - incredible. Cannot wait to go back!

Staff downstairs in the bar were very helpful getting drinks and arranging seating. The atmosphere was laid back with funky décor. Food was excellent but everything let down by inattentive staff. Wasn't offered more drinks during the meal and plates were slow to be taken away.
