“Arguably the best oyster bar of any white tablecloth restaurant in New Orleans” per the Times-Picayune, Dickie Brennan’s Bourbon House is all about local seafood. If it’s not in season, you won’t find it on the menu. Enjoy authentic New Orleans dishes and oysters on the half-shell in a lively atmosphere overlooking Bourbon Street.

Dickie Brennan and his culinary team have created an incredible menu of classic New Orleans dishes complemented by new favorites. Signature favorites include Gulf fish on the Halfshell and New Orleans style Barbeque Shrimp.

Bourbon is a central focus at the bar with 200 bourbons on the list. Bourbon House is the perfect place for a specialty cocktail or a straight pour of that hard to find small-batch whiskey.

No servizio ed attenzione a noi che non eravamo né locali né turisti americani. Servizio pessimo mi sono dovuto alzare per rubare i piatti e le posate dai tavoli vicini. MI sono alzato per prendere direttamente l'acqua dalla boule dove le caraffe erano riposte in quanto il cameriere prestava attenzione a tavoli di astanti penso locali. Il maitre passava senza guardare il tavolo.

First of all, we ordered raw oysters. I asked for them to specifically be shucked fresh. They came out in like 1 minute. They were not freshly shucked. They were taken off the tray of already shucked oysters. I am local I know what freshly shucked oysters look like. In addition, the oysters were very small!!! Just a pitiful product. If you want good local oysters, go to Mr. Ed's. Maybe Felix's across the street , but I find those hit or miss as well. My guest was from Georgia. I suggested some other places in the quarter as I view the Bourbon House as a tourist trap. He wanted to go here since this restaurant is part of the bourbon society. He tried to order 4 different bourbons and they were out of all 4!!!! How embarrassing. He settled for Woodford. His comment was" i have this at my house" The food was good, not great. To top it off, they tried to charge us for one of the bourbon's they did not have. This is typical of a tourist trap place. Trying to get as much money out of you as possible. It is sad as Dickie Brennan is good restaurateur. This place misses the mark.

We have dined here several times over the years and always enjoyed Bourbon House. This time they were under staffed on a Tuesday night. The menu selection seemed smaller than before as well. Not bad but not as good as before.

Our first food stop in New Orleans did not disappoint! The wine and drinks were excellent, setting the tone for a great evening. From our favorite to least favorite, the standout was definitely the Bourbonyaki Crispy Pork Belly—it’s a must-try! We loved it so much we ordered it twice. The Louisiana Crab Claw Bordelaise was delicious as well, though the portion was a bit small. Lastly, the Bourbon Glazed Shrimp had an amazing sauce, but the shrimp itself had a slightly off flavor we couldn’t quite pinpoint. Overall, it was a fun dining experience, perfect for a Sunday night in the city.

Dominic was a great server, very friendly and ready with a recommendation. Food was very good although not outstanding. Nice place.
