                                                                                                    Old Fitzgerald 17yr Bourbon | Elijah Craig 18yr Bourbon Orphan Barrel Series "Scarlet Shade" 14yr Rye Owned for years by Julian "Pappy" Van Winkle Sr., Old Fitzgerald prides itself on extended aging, and a touch of wheat. Known as the "Father of Bourbon", Elijah Craig is credited with the advent of barrel char, giving bourbon the flavor it has today. Orphan Barrel Scarlet Shade is 14yr aged Rye, distilled at the Stitzel-Weller Distillery, known first as the Old Fitzgerald Distillery, the same one purchased by Van Winkle Sr. This flight truly comes full circle.

                                                                                                      We had a reservation for 7pm and were not seated until 7:45 as the host told us they don’t know how to anticipate when people might show up. We also didn’t realize this restaurant is in the lobby of the hotel. Food was very flavorful though. Would not recommend going on a busy night.

                                                                                                      The food was extremely mediocre for the price. I would expect more for a $150 meal for two. Lobster bisque was colder than room temp. Steaks were charred. Dessert was good. Service was the only upside.

                                                                                                      Dined on Valentines Day when they had a special menu and larger volume than usual. It felt much closer to a generic banquet experience versus a restaurant. Usually the restaurant is better.

                                                                                                      Valentine's Day is not a good day to judge this restaurant. Our server was excellent but I think the servers were given instructions based on money not on service. We arrived 15 minutes early but were told to wait until our reservation time even though we saw several empty tables. Our food presentation was superb but cold and we watched as all tables were served their desert before they finished the main course. We love Bourbon Prime on a normal day but won't return on a holiday.

                                                                                                      We ordered 2 16oz prime ribeye steaks. They were not prime. Probably the worst steaks we ever ate. Very misleading description of your steaks.

                                                                                                      There was a power outage in the early afternoon at this restaurant, but we were not notified in any way. Our reservation was for 6:30 on New Year’s Eve. Needless to say, we could not find another place that could seat us. Ended up at a place called Tropics. If we had known earlier we would have been able to make better dinner arrangements. Very disappointing!

                                                                                                      I highly recommend Bourbon Prime. My husband and I stay regularly in Morgantown as we drive from NYC to Lexington KY to see family. Bourbon Prime is now one of my favorite restaurants! The food (we all had steak) was delicious (main and sides) and readable priced for quality and portion size. The wine selection is small but solid and, again, very reasonably priced. And the service is EXCELLENT—friendly and efficient. We look forward to our next meal there!

                                                                                                      Kylie was an amazing server. The menu has numerous selections and the food is very good. The chef is creative and uses many local purveyors. The restaurant staff is very friendly and welcoming.
