After some time off to recharge, Boxcar New Quebec Street is back open with a new look, menu and vibe.

A timeless eating and drinking den with cooking centred around the wood grill. Boxcar’s menu is packed with ingredients sourced daily from suppliers at London’s markets as well as Natoora, Shrub, Henderson Seafood, Walter Rose & Sons and many other likeminded producers.

After an extensive refurbishment diners can expect generous, creative dishes and perfectly paired drinks – served in comfortable, classic surroundings with a redesigned al fresco area ad intimate chefs table.

Il posto e molto accogliente , avrei preferito avere una tovaglia ed un tovagliolo di stoffa , la carta non è il massimo. La carne veramente ottima , peccato la temperatura appena tiepida quando e stata portata a tavola. Ottimo rapporto qualità e prezzo ed il team molto valido . Il vino veramente buono grande scelta torneremo sicuramente Ml

We ordered the croquets and the cod goujon. Both were lovely, although the goujon was very flat which made it a little dry. Half of us order steak, cooked to three different levels, mine was blue, and warm which was great, the others were rare and medium-rare, all cooked perfectly. The burgers that my fiends has looked great and apparently they tasted really good. The wine was nice and the bill was reasonable for five people, several bottles of wine, coming in around £60 per head. Happily recommend this place.

Lovely place offering great steak! My only criticism was that the knives could have been sharper as cutting the steak was a bit of a struggle.

Everything works here , the ambience , the kitchen delivery , the food , the front of house service all came together to provide a memorable al fresco afternoon Sunday dining experience. The Hereford beef was tasty ,accompanied by a red wine jus and vegetables served , with crafted sauce accompaniments . The marquise dessert was outstanding . credit to all involved

Utter shambles took over 45 minutes to just get water. Took even longer to be moved from a table in the corridor despite other tables being available and asking as we arrived to be moved. The food in terms of the steak was awful only the fries were any good. Perhaps my worst restaurant experience

Our steaks were cooked to perfection. The selection of wine was nice and service was great. My only complaint was that the rib eye might’ve been one of the smallest I’ve ever ordered.

Absolutely loved the place. Service was impeccable and food delicious. My friend and I enjoyed the burger while the kids loved the chips.

All staff are always friendly and always being attentive. It’s my third time to come here, the steak is unbeatable, it always have the perfect grill make the steak crispy on the outside and soft inside. Wish they have more variety even in the weekday. However, it could be the key to keep their food so yummy.
