Short and very direct route down Broadway from the Marriott Marquis. Nice menu with variety of dishes to suit every pallet. We had the sea bass and lobster specials. Staff very welcoming.

This is from the Lass family. We came to NYC from California for the holidays. Like most we didn't know where to go and had a family party of seven. We went on OpenTable and we were referred Bstro 38 as OpenTable's best restaurant of 2024! Like most I try to read the worst reviews here first because I know how the 5-stars are fluff. We read the most recent 1-star review and I decided to call the management ahead of time to make sure before I made the reservation they could explain themselves. Not only did they prove the review wrong the owners personally made the reservation under their names and gave us the best Christmas dinner we will always cherish. The GM Diana was top notch and the Chef made the best meals we have ever had. We had such a great experience upstairs for dinner that we booked lunch the next day! And believe it or not the lunch was amazing! Anyway, I highly recommend this location and we are planning on making Bstro 38 a family tradition for the holidays. Thank you to the entire team. There is something about a family run operation that just feels like Christmas.

New England claim chowder was delicious! Salads were ok but could have used more dressing mixed into the greens so perhaps ask as for extra. Bar and decor for the holidays were simple and well done. A little pricey for what we ate but would definitely try it again.

I took my nephew to Bstro/38 for his birthday. We did our traditional cocktail and burger dinner. The burger was very good and I enjoyed my Bstro/38 old fashioned. Nice, warm ambiance a la mid-town Manhattan.

Disappointed and Delayed: A Table-Setting Letdown When planning a meeting with my business partners after months of not seeing each other, I wanted the evening to start on a high note. I came in from out of town, scoped out the reviews, and thought this place would be the perfect spot for a 6:15 PM reservation. What I didn’t realize is that I should’ve brought a tent for the wait. The entrance was a crowded bottleneck with no room to even wait to see the maitre d’. After what felt like an Olympic-level shuffle through the crowd, I was told our table would be 30 minutes late. That 30 minutes magically expanded to 45 minutes—because what’s time when you’re trying to stick to a schedule, right? To salvage the evening, we gave up on the idea of being seated at an actual table and headed to the bar for dinner. The food? Fine. The service? Far from it. Checking in with the maitre d’ felt like bothering a robot with a glitch—robotic responses with the warmth of an ice cube. I get it; I’m sure I wasn’t the only frustrated patron that evening, but the vibe was clear: my presence was more of an annoyance than a priority. What was supposed to be a great evening barely scratched the surface of good. If you’re considering this place, let me offer some advice: New York City has far better restaurants that can deliver more than just photogenic plates for OpenTable listings. Next time I’m planning an important night, this will be the last place I look.
