As one of the most beloved (and highest-rated) Italian restaurants in Chicago for over 22 years, the historic Buona Terra continues to serve scratch made pastas, brick oven pizza, fresh fish and seafood options as well as chops and steaks. The wine selection is meticulously chosen (and inspired by our yearly trips to Italy for the Vin Italy fair) to pair with our different plates made with the freshest ingredients.
Chef Chepe sources fresh items from the market daily. He butchers our fish and meats daily, makes all of our sauces and soups in house and most of our deserts. You might note that you see familiar faces as our servers have been with us since we opened our doors.
Whether you've been here a hundred times or tonight is the first visit, we think that you'll "Come for the food, leave as a friend".

The owners and staff are very welcoming and handled the Valentine rush well! The food was incredible as always. Pecan tart is a forever favorite.

Great dining experience! Service was excellent- we did restaurant week for dinner and it was a great value. Cacio e Pepe was delicious!

Hadn't been here since it was named Hearth & Crust due to a hectic schedule. Decided to finally make time during Restaurant Week. The restaurant was full on a Saturday night, but everything was on point. The service was great and the food was amazing. Our group enjoyed it very much and can't wait to go back.

Food was great but my steak was over cooked . I still ate it and enjoyed my evening . Amazing deal for restaurant week.

Matillo our server was very polite and prompt with service. He surprised us with the the $45 restaurant week menu after we the initia selections we made. Bolognese dinner was very tasty. I added the meatballs and it made the meal even better. My wife had the steak and potatoes. I had the last couple of bites, because she could not pack down anymore and did not want to take it home. I polished off my plate. The grilled calamari as an appetizer is a must have. We also had the Italian bread appetizer. There was regular bread loaf with garlic paste as a complimentary item. We had two pieces of dester to go. The tiramisu and the canoli. We had to go home to the puppy. We will take pics next time. The atmosphere was nice and we helped sing the table next to us a happy birthday. We had a great date night for a Sunday. I will bring some of my local US Army Veteran friends here soon. We are all in Albany Park

My cousins and I tried try Buona Terra for the first time. We came here for resturant week and i thoouvht it was a great deal. $45 for any appetizer,entree, and dessert. We each got a different plate and were able to try five different plates. The food m, desserts, and drinks were so good. The service was amazing since we walked in the door. Being that it was restaurant week on a friday night it was crowded but Eileen was very welcoming and made sure we got a good tabel. Our server was also very friendly and welcoming and he had a lot of good recommendations. Eileen made sure she asked us to stop by again. Since we did travel from the Midway area. We all agreed that the drive was worth it and we will be returning🙂

I gave 4 out of 5 stars because I told the waiter that I was dairy free and gluten free. Unfortunately my meal came out with goat cheese on top. I was able to pick most of it off but I got a stomach ache from the little bit of the goat cheese that was left. I didn’t want them to have to remake it / waste the food so I ate what I could. It was also took awhile for the dinner to come out which is fine but I didn’t want to wait longer for my dinner.
