                                  We visit Burlingame at least ten to twelve times a year and everything is always almost perfect. Unfortunately our waiter tonight wasn’t part of our usual dining experience. He wasn’t at all happy to wait on us after we declined the offer for anymore alcohol. He left us on our own and we had to ask for service from other wait staff and finally decided to pay the bill with the manager and left before coffee and desert. An unexpected and unpleasant ending to our dinner. Not the usual!

                                  I am sad to say we were quite disappointed with our visit. And I say this as a customer who has dined at Burlingame since its opening. But in the last couple years the restaurant has declined in quality and variety while its prices have soared into the stratosphere. Our party had two standard appetizers to start: the brussel sprouts and french fries. Both were merely okay and a shadow of how good they were two years ago. Our entrees were most disappointing: I had the $60 market priced sea bass special that was perfectly cooked but not coherently seasoned. Others had the seafood gumbo that was described as ,"bland" and "not as good as moderate priced restaurants on the island". And that entree was over $40. We left with a tab for 5 of over $400 which is ridiculous for a fair meal. In summary, we now find Burlingame as offering average food at elite pricing. The food pricing is probably 50 percent higher than the quality we tasted warranted. I hope the restaurant regains its former greatness. But, despite fine service, we won't be returning for the foreseeable future. There are too many better alternatives available.

                                  This is the best restaurant in Fernandina Beach, in my opinion. We had an absolutely fantastic NYE dinner here. Food, drinks, service and atmosphere were all exceptional. The food was just incredible. I had the strip steak and my wife had the salmon. We also had the octopus app and the Coffee & Donuts dessert. Wow. Everything was delicious from beginning to end.

                                  Great New American food (I recommend the seafood gumbo and pecan pie), terrific service (our waiter Tanner was awesome), understated tasteful decor (and tables spaced well apart). A perfect choice for a nice dinner in downtown Fernandina Beach.

                                  The menu selection is very small, which we were told before hand, so expected it. That said….was just a little too limited for us. They offered one type of raw oyster, which was very delicious.

                                  We were here on vacation last year and enjoyed it. Not so much this time. We had a very hard time finding something we wanted to order in all categories of the menu. We were unable to select an appealing appetizer . The entrees we chose were good but very small. The lamb ragu was very good but they served such a small portion of pasta that I had a plate full of sauce when I finished eating. The waiter never checked to see how our meals were. It would have been nice to have been offered additional pasta. We had crème brûlée for dessert that was good.
