Clark and Schwenk, friends over the years, discussed starting a place of their own and traded ideas over what the menu would be like. Finally, at the beginning of 2007, they felt ready to strike out on their own and made that vision happen. “I looked around Atlanta and saw a need for a really good old-school restaurant,” Clark says. That restaurant would become C&S Oyster Bar, specializing in classic New York and Paris brasserie-style cuisine. Clark possesses a passion for French cuisine and claims that it comes from the French’s appreciation for balance. Their focus on vegetables, fish, and meat as the primary vehicles of flavor allow for emphasis to be placed on the freshness of the ingredients.

As usual they are firing on all cylinders. From the greeting to escorting me to the bathroom they offer elegant service. The two of us had roasted oysters, tuna tartare, shrimp cocktail and for our main courses we had the snapper with stir fry rice and the seabass "oscar". Dessert was creme brulee and chocolate fondant cake. I have been many times and it has always been an elegant experience. I would highly recommend !

Hands-down, my experience was a 10 out of 10. Food was excellent service was excellent. Wait time it’s never too bad atmosphere always pleasant. This is one of my favorite restaurants as it will continue to be.

My aunt and I came in for a 3:30 PM reservation and were on time. We were seated immediately but NONE of the servers acknowledged us. We left at 3:45 PM because that was unacceptable and we value our money. The host tried to make up for it as he saw us leaving but it was too late. We made a reservation at The Capital Grille and they treated us well from start to finish.

I've always enjoyed C&S since our first visit to their location near Vinings, but this was our first time in the location on Roswell Road. I noticed the same friendly, but refined atmosphere upon stepping inside. The entire experience continued throughout and we feel fortunate to have met JD, who elevated the service beyond expectations. Thanks to all for a wonderful evening.
