Clark and Schwenk, friends over the years, discussed starting a place of their own and traded ideas over what the menu would be like. Finally, at the beginning of 2007, they felt ready to strike out on their own and made that vision happen. “I looked around Atlanta and saw a need for a really good old-school restaurant,” Clark says. That restaurant would become C&S Oyster Bar, specializing in classic New York and Paris brasserie-style cuisine. Clark possesses a passion for French cuisine and claims that it comes from the French’s appreciation for balance. Their focus on vegetables, fish, and meat as the primary vehicles of flavor allow for emphasis to be placed on the freshness of the ingredients.

We made a reservation to celebrate our anniversary. The wait staff was very apologetic, as the restaurant apparently sold out of some of the better fish selections the night before. So we were left with minimum options on New Year's Day & our 26th Anniversary. We drove 40 minutes for a disappointing experience on a special day to us.

Understanding it was NYE, •We had a reservation, but there was a chaotic 15-minute wait with an overcrowded entryway. •They were out of an appetizer and an entrée, and we only found out after Gias, our attentive server, returned to inform us (each time with the right amount of regret). •The Swordfish was very good. The Crab cake appetizer and 8 oz Filet entrée were even better. •It’s hard to look at a menu and see a $90+ steak listed with an additional $3 charge for sauce. •Our birthday desserts were generous and delicious. •We found two extra meals on our check – but it was quickly corrected. It was our second visit, and more than likely we’ll go back for a third, probably not again on a major holiday.

We come to C&S for the excellent food & the stellar service. The vibe is lively & inspiring. Great location with plenty of parking. And the wine list is very comprehensive. C&S offers frequent special events & menus. And the gelato is the very best in Atlanta!!

We went for my wife’s birthday and it was perfect. She was happy with the entire experience and so was I. The food was amazing and we didn’t have to wait long. Everything was a 10/10, appetizers, drinks, entrees and desert. Our server Ershell was the best we have ever had at any restaurant. We had a great time and will definitely be back soon.

Came here on Xmas Eve with my sister. Our waiter Matt was phenomenal! Very welcoming, accommodating and sweet. He went above & beyond for us! The food was so delicious and fresh! Thanks for an amazing experience! Will def be back!
