Clark and Schwenk, friends over the years, discussed starting a place of their own and traded ideas over what the menu would be like. Finally, at the beginning of 2007, they felt ready to strike out on their own and made that vision happen. “I looked around Atlanta and saw a need for a really good old-school restaurant,” Clark says. That restaurant would become C&S Oyster Bar, specializing in classic New York and Paris brasserie-style cuisine. Clark possesses a passion for French cuisine and claims that it comes from the French’s appreciation for balance. Their focus on vegetables, fish, and meat as the primary vehicles of flavor allow for emphasis to be placed on the freshness of the ingredients.

Had an awesome Post Valentine’s Day lunch at C&S in Sandy Springs with my partner. I had visited this location once before years ago and it was my partner’s first visit. Everything was exceptional. We had no wait and were greeting soon after we were seated by our waiter. All of the wait staff was very attentive. We had the deviled eggs and chargrilled oysters for starters. Next time we would get more oysters and skip the deviled eggs. For our mains the red snapper, fried shrimp and the sides were top notch. We can’t wait to return.

The fish at C&S is always very fresh and flavorful the sides I got with my meal. We’re not my favorite, but the service made up for it. The dessert I had was a sticky toffee pudding was extremely overwhelming and a bit hard.

Great meal at C&S Seafood last evening for Valentines. Very nice upscale atmosphere. Food was excellent. Wife had the Seabass and I had the Red Snapper. Both were delicious. I equate this restaurant for seafood as Bones is for steaks. Great service.
