Since 1987, California Dreaming has been a proud part of the Charleston, SC community. Our spacious, open setting features floor-to-ceiling windows that offer stunning views of the Ashley River, creating the perfect backdrop for a lively night out. You can also enjoy these panoramic views from our wrap-around deck, complete with a bar and easily accessible by boat. Whether you're craving low country favorites or our famous prime rib, California Dreaming is a favorite among both locals and tourists.

**Please note that we provide Advance Priority Seating to reduce wait times and expedite the seating process when your entire party arrives. To ensure the best experience for all guests, we seat groups of up to 6. While larger groups are seated separately, this arrangement is flexible during quieter hours.

                                                                                California Dreaming is one of our favorite restaurants because of the food, service and view. The lighting was so low, I saw several folks nearby using their phone lights to read the menu etc. Worth the trip always.

                                                                                Food was good. Had the Charleston seafood pasta with fresh croissants. Service was good. Only downfall was the heat wasn’t working, we were told at check in stand and it was cold inside even with jackets on.

                                                                                Out only compliant was how dark the restaurant was after the sun had set. I think it would be nice if they raised the lights just a bit after dark.

                                                                                It was freezing. We had to eat with our coats and hats on. The she crab soup was not brought out until waiter was reminded. One Potatoe soup never came but we were charged for it.

Shrimp and grits, big disappointment...should be called sausage with a few small shrimp. Very pricey. Croissants are good, but not price worthy. Salad was not a side- extra $ ... Overall, beer on tap was the best out of all the order.

                                                                                Service was impeccable! Our waiter was fantastic! The new menu left much to be desired . Long gone is the prime rib au jus and the chicken nachos . Not enough to offer for those in our group that do not like seafood. The restaurant was very clean but the bathrooms were not. The smell was overwhelmingly gross. There was a layer of filth on the stall walls. This used to be a favorite of ours . Now not so much ! We might be back when /if they change the menu.

                                                                                We made our reservations the morning of Thanksgiving Day, and had a 7pm seating time. We ended up having to wait until 7:45. The place was packed. The young lady taking care of getting people seated did a fantastic job and was cool under pressure. Every single person we encountered there was cool, calm and very friendly. Our waitress did a great job and was very amenable and considerate. The staff did a phenomenal job. My hats off to your establishment.
