Casa Madai is an Omakase inspired restaurant fusing Japanese and Mexican cuisine in the most authentic and reverent way possible. This project has been brought to life by Ismael Lucero Lopez, a well known and respected sushi chef, whose experience began in Chicago in 1999 at Mirai Sushi. Working alongside his mentor chef Junzan Ichikawa, Ismael perfected the skills of proper Osaka sushi preparation and presentation. Not only was Junzan a mentor, he became the source of inspiration to continue in search for greater things, because he believed in Ismael and his potential. Since then, he has worked at multiple prestigious Japanese restaurants such as Japonais, Rebar, Kissaki Omakase in New York City, Tengoku, and Arami. From the midwest, to the east coast, Ismael has shared his passion for sushi and always works hard to be better everyday in his skill.

Truly outstanding experience in all aspects! The food was unique and top quality and beautifully presented. The staff was friendly and engaging. The atmosphere was elegant. We will be back!

Casa Madai was amazing! The food was delicious, the chef, Ismael, was friendly and informative, and omakase is a must. I’ll definitely be making a trip back!

Such a fun and delicious experience. The food is like nothing I have ever tasted. The chefs are also very passionate about the food they put in front of you. I love it every time I visit.

NEW HIDDEN GEM!!!! The sushi is HIGH END fresh, savory, delicious. Presentation is fabulous. Service is very friendly & welcoming. BYOB for now. Highly recommend!!!!!

Casa Madai is a neighborhood gem! It was our first time in and we decided to try the table omakase and a couple of rolls and maki - all fantastic! The quality of the fish and presentation of the sushi was what you would expect from any high-end sushi restaurant in the West Loop, but the chef’s use of some unexpected ingredients made each piece truly unique! The restaurant itself was cozy and had a great vibe - the music was spot-on! Very attentive service and friendly staff. So thrilled to have this great spot in the neighborhood, can’t wait to go back!

Casa Madai is - without question- the BEST sushi place in Chicago. Chef’s treatment of exquisite fish is mind blowing on every bite! Since he left Arami, I have longed for his return. The setting is exquisite! What a delightful experience.
