   Sinceramente non so se New York regali le stelle Michelin. Ma questo non se la merita. Il menu è davvero molto interessante ma purtroppo la riuscita non è altrettanto. Piatti pieni di aglio tagliato grossolano, non da stella Michelin. Poca tecnica. Uova di salmone finte molecolari, durissime con un sapore di salmone affumicato. Davvero, per quanto ho speso mi sono sentito preso in giro. Sono uno Chef europeo che gira il mondo e i ristoranti stellati da 16 anni. Servizio buono però devo troppo stretto, nemmeno 10cm di distanza l’uno con l’altro, sentivo cosa dicevano i miei vicini. Tavoli piccolissimi, non riuscivo a mangiare, dovevo stare attento a non far cadere il calice. Voglio premettere che vogliono essere le critiche mie, costruttive. Perché il locale ha tutte le capacità e lo posso consigliare assolutamente in quanto l’intenzione di fare un buon lavoro c’è, però non ancora all’altezza di esporre le stelle Michelin.    So loud you can’t hear yourself think. Service is slow and inattentive until they want you to leave and then they rush you out in a manner bordering on rude. In general - they make it seem like they are doing you a favor by letting you have dinner there. Yes - food was good, no question. But not a good dining experience. Especially given the cost.

   Fine. Considering we ordered two bottles of wine,more attentive service would have been appreciated. Possibly different had we not sat at the bar.

   Food was tasty. Sweetbreads were a very breaded. No one asked how the food was while we were dining or seemed to notice that there was a huge pile of crust where the sweetbreads should have been. The pace of the course meals was like being on a conveyor belt. We felt completely rushed.

   Great special food with really nice service (we sat at the bar). We prefered the ambiance to the usual fancy Michelin experience - casual and very good.

   Casa Mono was a great dissappointment. After a few months of stay in Madrid, with excellent restaurants, the food in this Spanish restaurant is very poor, the ambiance too noisy and the tables and space too small and uncomfortable. The rocquettes were disappointly oily, the "papas bravas" were well cooked but the sauce was disappointing, the fannel salad was tasteless and the pieces of manchego cheese do not make it better. And so was the "crema catalana": whereas the sugar cote was well made, the cream itself was poor (and the buñuelos were badly made and cooked)

    We loved everything about this restaurante, food was wonderful, and the experience brought us back to Spain!
