   This was our first visit to this new location. Imagine our disappointment that there were no popovers….something we have always gotten in Raritan. Rather a deal breaker for the bakery fans here. Another disappointment was the $20 appetizer of spicy tuna on crispy rice. There were only 3 pieces. This is an item i have had in other places and this option didnt measure up. Steaks were all very good and prepared perfectly. Sides were the French fried, Mac and cheese (very good) and asparagus, also very good. Our granddaughter s had ice cream for dessert and were pleased. A very expensive dinner to say the least

   We had an amazing experience ! The staff was great especially our waiters Jairo and Camilo! They went above and beyond with our requests for our special moment ! Would highly recommend.

   The restaurant is stunning. The aesthetics are beautiful and very soothing to the eye. I think because it’s the first weekend we had a shortage of bread and the service was a bit on the slow side. However, our waitress was a doll and she made up for those downfalls. The managers did come frequently looking around and asking us how we were doing. My son did not enjoy his meal and the kid never turns down a french fry. I as well didn’t really enjoy my chicken Milanese, it was a bit on the dry side. I will give it a second chance because like I said, they just opened up and it’s usually a bit chaotic at the beginning. I’m a fan of other Char’s so I’m optimistic.

   Jim was our waiter and he was honestly one of the best We have had. Food was excellent. My only critique would be, the bread basket brings out mixed breads and my son has a sesame allergy. I think mixing the bread is a great idea but when served the person should say if anyone has an allergy they can get one from the kitchen that is bot cross contaminated. Overall experience was wonderful, food was great, my cosmo hit the spot. The creme brûlée was one of the best I have had.

   We came here to celebrate our son’s birthday and we couldn’t have been happier with the experience! Everything was amazing from the beginning, the staff was wonderful, setting amazing, and the food completely outstanding!!! We’ll definitely be back in the future!

   For only being open two weeks, very impressive how the service was excellent. I define that the waitress total grasp of the menu, new when to be present and let us chill and enjoy. The food was delivered timely and spaced out accordingly. She was engaging, kind, professional and threw in some good humor. The food was also excellent all around. Managment stopped by to check in (nice touch). We were made to feel like family. We are going back for sure. It's great to have a new top notch restaurant in our area. Well done to the staff and management at Scotch Plains Char!!!

   First time for this new location, everything was great and our steaks were cooked to perfection. Very nice specialty cocktails, loved the CharManhattan!

    James our server was fantastic! Friendly and efficient! Food and was great but Prices are high . This is a special date night spot .
