Char’d offers ever-changing Korean-themed small plates perfect for 'shared plate dining' or snacking along with drinks. Full-meal-sized Korean traditional entrées are served with a bowl of rice. Our dishes showcase elevated presentations and modern techniques to re-interpret authentic Korean cuisine, while staying true to its roots.                                       We dined at Char’d on NYE, and despite being one of the first tables seated at 6pm, it took over 20 minutes to get drinks. We sat there without receiving our second round of drinks or our entrees for an hour and a half. We did receive our appetizers which were delicious, as were the first cocktails, but the service was horrendous to the point that we left before we even received our dinner. I am hoping this was a fluke and that next time will be better.

                                      We have previously dined here and originally loved it. We noticed they changed their recipe of the beef bulgogi though and it is not as good as it used to be. When we asked if the recipe had changed, we were told “huh, no. But you aren’t the first people to ask”.

                                      While other Korean restaurants like Sinabro and Maru go the more traditional Korean fare route, we have always loved Char'd because of its non-traditional Korean fusion of flavors. Not anymore. Char'd has changed its menu, and not for the better. They have removed a number of our favorite small plates and the overall impression is now standard Korean dishes with no real perspective.

                                      Had another great meal. We try something new each time and get a couple favorites. All excellent. My only suggestion: bring back the dashi cauliflower and shishito peppers.

                                      We waiting 2 hours for edamame. :( She warned us that the kitchen was 30 minutes behind but again, 2 hours just for edamame. Never checked on us for water or drinks. It wasn’t that busy, as far as number of tables.

                                      When we were sat the server and hostess informed us that the kitchen was behind so food was going to be a wait. My friend said that last time she was there they said the same thing. It took about an hour for the food to come. The food was great! But because we had to wait for the food it was weird that they didn’t keep our drinks full. Everyone seemed really overwhelmed and I felt bad being an additional burden on them.

                                      We had a reservation for 6pm and were seated immediately upon arrival at about 5:55. We ordered drinks and our server did an excellent job of explaining dishes to us. We ordered a few apps which took about 30 minutes to come out. Our entrees didn’t come out until approximately 7:50pm. This really is unacceptable in my opinion. The restaurant was not full, every table was not seated. We were told the kitchen was backed up and we have no problem waiting for food. But waiting almost two hours is excessive. We were given 20% off our bill and a round of drinks at no cost. It will be a while before we would consider going back for the price and the wait.
