Charley’s Ocean Bar & Grill is a seaside restaurant with ocean views, quality meals & cocktails. Our distinguished menu and atmosphere are inspired by a beach-life attitude, offering all patrons a “local summer” experience, all year round! Originally a speakeasy that dated to the 1930 pre-prohibition era, Charley’s is a part of Jersey Shore history and has always been a part of Long Branch.

                                                                                                                  My wife and I booked a reservation at this restaurant at the last minute for our valentines dinner. The food and service was excellent. We also was surprised to see live music which was an added treat. I look forward on going back in the summer 🙂.

                                                                                                                  Enjoyable Valentine’s Day dinner. My wife and I both chose prix-fixe menu with appetizer, entree and desert. I tried the Peruvian Calamari with sauce on the side (waitress said it’s spicy) and my wife has lobster bisque. For entrees, stuffed flounder with crab meat and wild rice and salmon with asparagus in parchment paper and mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious and filling, so that we both took our cheesecake boxed for home. We have been to Charley’s several times but never on Friday evening (live music every Friday) where the band Danjo’s added to the atmosphere. We’ll be back.

                                                                                                                  Wonderful neighborhood bar and restaurant. In winter, they have live music. We enjoyed our dinners while we listened to a band play vintage soft rock. I had the crabmeat tacos and my husband had the fish and chips. The fries were done to the perfect crispness. Will be going back soon.

Service is attentive and food is of good quality. The TV's over the bar do NOT blast the audio which is a big plus for the diners

                                                                                                                  We went with another couple during restaurant week and were pleasantly surprised. Food, ambience, service, quality etc. very good. We’re sorry it’s a bit far or we’d have found a great neighborhood bar! Very nice and with parking!
