Charley's Steak House is owned by the Woodsby family and has operated in Florida since 1974. Charley’s serves only three-year-old USDA prime and choice Angus steers, aging them four to six weeks for tenderness & flavor and hand-cutting the steaks daily to ensure consistent quality. The steaks are then flame-broiled over Florida citrus and oak wood in a custom-built pit at 1200º searing in the tantalizing taste that has made Charley’s the #1 steakhouse in America every year since 2007! Charley’s philosophy of providing only the finest extends from the kitchen to the wine cellar. The wine list approaches 1000 selections from scores of exceptional wineries around the globe. Charley’s has been recognized with numerous awards including “Best of Award of Excellence” from Wine Spectator magazine, DiRōNA and Orlando Magazine’s“ Best Steak House & Best Old Favorite”.     Okay, I’m always down for a great dining experience but for a bill over 1k and I couldn’t get a candle on my fiancee birthday cake before it was brought out was crazy to me. So, I should’ve been told when I did my reservation that they are not the kind of restaurant that sings happy birthday. I also should’ve been told when I booked my party of 7 we would receive one bill and it wouldn’t be split. I was so upset trying to calculate my portion of the bill after doing a wine tasting plus having a few drinks at dinner. The lighting is very low and I’m at the age now where I may need some readers 😂. Our waiter was okay but I feel when he seen the struggle with the bill he should’ve stepped in and helped and he said it was something he couldn’t do. The drinks that we ordered was not good at all, I ordered a strawberry henny and my drink came back with all ice, a little piece of strawberry and something that wasn’t Henny, cognac is brown, not white. My calamari didn’t have no flavor and I asked for my steak medium well and it came out rare. I didn’t do any complaining at the restaurant and I will not be attending again. I will say this though, the steak was very flavorful.

    Fantastic service, however steaks we just slightly above average and sides were below average. Overall extremely below average experience and food for the cost.

    I had a fantastic birthday celebration at Charlie’s Steakhouse in Tampa! Our server, Neil, made the experience unforgettable. Every detail was just perfect! The meal's highlight was the Caribbean lobster tail – it was out of this world! We also indulged in their incredible appetizers, diving into the fresh Ahi tuna and the delightful bacon-wrapped sea scallops. It was a feast to remember! Erika

    Dined here for our wedding anniversary and Charley's lived up to its reputation. Exceptional food, service was personable and genuine. We opted for the surf and turf for two, and it was amazing. Charley's will continue to be our go-to restaurant for special occasions.

    Always a phenomenal experience. We started at the bar and Sondra served us the absolute best Espresso martini and Smoky ol Fashioned ever! Then our very impressive server Bill served us the most amazing meal ever. I had the wagu filet and it was like cotton candy, because it instantly melted the moment it touched my tongue. 5 stars all the way.

    Great dinner with friends. Wife’s birthday and of course Charlie’s made her feel special. Steaks and Fried Lobster tasted outstanding. Finished the evening with Brownie and Maple ice cream, one was enough for four to share. John our waiter did an excellent job taking care of us. My favorite Steakhouse in Tampa.

    There is a section of the restaurant I like to sit in and it didn’t start sitting at the reservation time - they made an accommodation and sat us there . Our waiter Bill went above and beyond. Charley’s makes every dinner a memory. It’s why I keep going back there every couple of months.
