Ottmo ristorante con bellissima vista. Abbiamo mangiato un king crab strepitoso. Personale molto gentile e premuroso.

Pessima esperienza. Non so se il problema sia il ristorante oppure OpenTable. In ogni caso l’accoglienza è stata fredda, formale e scortese. Avevo segnalato che si trattava del compleanno di mio marito ed avevo anche scritto un messaggio per chiedere di darmi un buon tavolo panoramico e magari preparare un dolce per spegnere una candelina simbolica, risultato: siamo stati totalmente ignorati, la candela fortunatamente l’avevo portata io e l’abbiamo spenta su un dolcetto singolo, prima di farci sedere ci hanno fatto attendere 25 minuti senza nemmeno scusarsi e ci hanno fatto sedere solo quando io, ormai spazientita, mi sono alzata per protestare. La cosa che mi ha sorpreso è stata che poi, quando ci siamo seduti, in un tavolo tondo per almeno 8 persone (eravamo 4), ho notato che almeno un paio di tavolo da 4 in ottima posizione sono rimasti vuoti per l’intera serata. Ripeto,credo che il problema nasca da una interpretazione molto personale del rapporto tra questo particolare ristorante e OpenTable, però non mi è successo solo a Monterey, ma anche a San Diego al ristorante Donovan.. In ogni caso il vostro slogan dice “non vediamo l’ora di avervi con noi” o qualcosa del genere. In questo caso non è stato così! Credo che opentable dovrebbe chiarire meglio la propria politica di accoglienza con i suoi ristoranti.

We had an interesting evening. I’ll start by saying the food was excellent. Through our reservation we were sat at a table so we could view the windows, however it was the furthest table back and we felt in the aisle since my husband kept getting bumped by people walking between the narrow walkway of our table and hallway. Our friendly staffer Desire was kind and took our drink order after about ten minutes. After 30 we still did not have our bar drinks but we did receive an excellent shrimp cocktail. Finally received drinks and entrees including excellent prime rib and filet mignon. We ordered another drink but I changed from a cocktail to wine. The drinks came quicker this time but my drink was incorrect and then completely spilled on the table, me and my husband. We promptly stopped eating and prepared to leave. Manager came and comped one drink for us. We were grateful but left.

My husbands food was excellent, he had the Filet and Lobster tail, but we both had the Mashed Potatoes, which were served luke warm I would say. I had the Sea Bass (regular item) It was cooked perfectly but the taste was a little fishy. He kindly shared a few bites of his dinner with me. The wine was very good, and the desserts were to to die for, we had the Creme Brulee' flight and the Cheesecake with strawberry sauce. The couple seated behind us were having an issue with their payment and the man talked very loudly throughout our sitting, so sort of spoiled the experience, and I initially was not feeling well when we arrived but after eating I felt better. Needless to say I was hoping for a better experience overall, we had not been to this Chart House for many years, and it seemed for the prices they charge the food should have been beyond excellent.

It was wonderful , the specialized menu with our son’s 18th bday present n it was such a great touch !

We’re locals and enjoy dining at the Chart House. Our waitress was just too busy to offer the service we wanted. She took far too long to check on us the entire evening. As for the food, it wasn’t hot when received it was just warm. Overall it was ok but could have been better.
