   You get what you pay for, thoughtfully designed food served elegantly. This is not just a place to eat, it is a dining theatre where the food is the star. Last night following the canapes we were served a slightly disappointing amuse bouche,it needed some moisture as a base. Starters of lobster and duck leg followed both a joy,in terms of presentation,texture and flavour. Both main courses were equally enjoyable, the steak moist and the fish of the day, turbot, succulent. At this point our appetite failed us and we called it a day with coffee. If you are looking for somewhere to " dine" we thoroughly recommend Cheals.

   Ate lunch there on Saturday. Welcome was professional, restaurant is decorated in a very appealing way and tables are well spaced. We sat in a banquette which added to the privacy. Our daughter had previously arranged for a card and gift of a glass of champagne each which was presented very promptly and efficiently. We have been here on a number of occasions and (like this time) the food is exceptional in its presentation, flavours and choice. We ordered a bottle of white wine but declined the offer to taste it (BIG mistake). It was served at room temperature but we guessed that it would be cooled as we consumed. However, the wine continued at room temperature. I asked if there was any ice in the bucket and was shown a handful of melting cubes. I asked for the bottle to be chilled and it was taken away and brought back cold. The difference could be seen without tasting as the glass immediately had condensation on it. There was no apology or explanation so I guess that the wine had been kept at room temperature and when ordered shoved into a shallow ice bucket. The wine cost £57 so this is not good enough. Otherwise a very enjoyable lunch and we would return but with a raised awareness of indifferent wine service.

   We have been a customer of Cheal's for many years including the time they were based in Henley in Arden. We always look forward to eating in the restaurant as we know some of the staff and are assured a friendly welcome and good service. The menus always seem to suit our palate and the presentation and taste of the courses always delight. We would recommend a visit to the restaurant to anyone who has a reason to celebrate.

   We have visited Cheall's many times over a number of years and have never been disappointed. The restaurant is attractively furnished, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the menu opttions are very attractive and appealing, and the food itself is beautifully cooked and presented. What more is there to want from a restaurant? It is our regular first choice dining venue. We have visited on our own(husband and wife) and also on various occasions with both friends and family. All have been delighted with their experience.

   As a regular visitor to Cheal’s we were expecting the same fabulous ambiance we’ve experienced on previous visits. Unfortunately we were seated in the corner outside of the main restaurant at a table for 2 and extremely close to the table of 2 next to us. The restaurant was not at full capacity and the couple next to us were extremely loud and unfortunately this led to my husband and I not being able to hold a conversation. I didn’t feel comfortable asking to move as it would have been very apparent that we were uncomfortable with the situation which may have led to embarrassment. After spending a significant amount of money, we were unable to enjoy the experience and ended up rushing our food and leaving earlier than planned skipping dessert and coffee. The food I must add was beautiful. The service was “good” not the best we’ve had since staff changes and I believe inexperience potentially led to the seating situation being missed.

   Absolutely lovely as always, so accommodating and helpful with my allergies. The best desert I’ve eaten in a restaurant and lovely to have choice ❤️

   We were celebrating my son’s engagement and wanted a really special meal - and it was perfect! Food was incredible and staff excellent. There was a very loud screeching group sat next to us which made conversation difficult and we couldn’t hear the explanations of the dishes presented. I was hoping they’d shut up when they had food in their noisy mouths - but no!! Nevertheless we had a wonderful evening and will definitely return.

    We had the winter menu & overall the food quality was excellent. Service was good & combined with the February lunchtime offer, value was exceptional
