Chez Max Palace Street, situated in the heart of Dublin City Centre next to Dublin Castle, invites you to experience its charming French ambience, bistrot, and café. Guests can relax on the front terrace, enjoy the Parisian vintage indoor area, or unwind in the heated back patio.

For larger groups (seven or more), bookings cannot be made through this platform. Please email us at chezmaxpalace@gmail.com, and we will provide a form to collect the necessary details for your group.

Very authentic and enjoyable French style bistro.One could be in Paris all the standard fare well done,French Onion Soup,Boeuf Bourginon ,Moules Frites etc.The wine list is good too.

This is a moderate to high price restaurant, at least in my world. Everything was delicious, from the moules and beetroot salad starters, the cod and chicken supreme main and the shared Cafe Gourmand - a selection of tiny desserts and an accompanying tea or coffee. The wine list seems extensive - I just looked for the least expensive one by the glass. Lovely service and I would highly recommend

Myself and 5 others dined here for my 21st Birthday, and while the food was amazing, I can't say I enjoyed my time in the restaurant. I booked the table for 7:00 and during the booking process there was no mention of a time we would have to leave the table by. When we all sat down at the restaurant, the waitress serving us rather abruptly told us that she needed the table back at 9:00 pm sharp. I thought it was somewhat strange, as the restaurant said it closes at 10:00 pm on Saturdays and I imagined they wouldn't accept a booking past 9:00. This immediately put a time pressure on us, however I figured that 2 hours was enough time and wasn't too unreasonable. However she proceeded to remind us on multiple occasions what time we had to be gone by over the course of our meal, making it constantly feel like we weren't welcome. Three of us had ordered desserts at the start but they didn't come out until 10 to 9:00, and we once again were reminded that we had to be gone in 10 minutes when she came by. This was incredibly frustrating as not only did I not see any other diners around me being constantly told to leave, but it also meant we couldn't enjoy the desserts or simply enjoy the food at a leisurely pace for my Birthday. I have to emphasise again that all the food was incredible, some of the nicest I've enjoyed in any restaurant. But I felt that we were treated like second class diners with no reason given as to why the table needed to be cleared off so quickly and with no one else around us being treated like this.

Regarding the timing, I’m truly sorry if it felt rushed. As noted on OpenTable and our website, tables are for 1 hour and 45 minutes to ensure all our guests can be accommodated. I understand that some of your party arrived late, and this may have contributed to the situation. Our team aims to manage such instances delicately, and I regret if this was not the case during your visit. On a brighter note, I am delighted that you enjoyed the food, and I will be sure to pass your kind words on to our chefs. Everything was very nice, the food, the staff and the atmosphere. The only downfall was having to pay 34 euros for some chicken and mash potato for our toddler. The price of a menu for just a main. Maybe you guys should add a kid option at a decent price.
