The Japanese word “chika” means basement/cellar/underground place. The cuisine at Chika is traditional sushi & ramen (cold & hot) dishes with Japanese bites prepared by Dean Leevongcharoen, a 12-year chef who was trained in Japan. They didn’t have a sushi chef when we visited so half the menu was out of commission. Regardless, the drinks were overpriced and the food was only okay. The service was lackluster, it felt like we waited forever for our waitress to bring us anything.

Only had 2 servers for the whole restaurant. Took a long time to get the drinks, check, etc. One chef was our so only half fhe menu was available

We enjoyed what we had, but most of the menu was unavailable due to the lack of a sushi chef. A couple of the signature cocktails were also unavailable. We’re interested in going back to try it again, but this was not the best first experience. The listed phone number for the restaurant is also out of service so there is no way to call when we were running late
