Chowder Heads Restaurant is located inside The Driftwood Plaza at Jupiter. It is a must try for those who are fans of fresh seafood, and of course, chowder. The tasty recipes at Chowder Heads Restaurant have won the venue the Best of Jupiter award for four years in a row. Service was not as expected. At 730pm, the dinner rush was over. Yet we waited over 10 minutes for staff to come to our empty table. Oysters were small and unappealing. Took way to long to deliver. Our check had extra items on it. Good thing someone (me) was paying attention... it just wasn't busy enough to warrant such inattentive and slow service. Very disappointed.

I know we (4) came rather early for us 6PM and sandwiched between two tables of 6, the noise level made talking difficult. However, the food ; hotdogs , hamburger and a dozen oysters made up for everything.7 PM is a better time on Wednesdays , for less noise.

Seating is limited, highly recommend reservations, comfort is not a priority nor is it what a good meal is all about. So that being said oysters are delicious according to my hubby, this week I had fish n chips. Very large order. Fish is so thick it is hard to pick up and the coating falls off immediately. No taste to the coating, but the fish was good. Easily an order for two regarding fish. Had the old bay fries to accompany. .. just a few fries sitting under the fish. Soggy by the time you eat them. Gives a very fast paced rushed atmosphere. I want to enjoy my dinner.

UNFORTUNATELY our lunch was less than desirable . Outrageou price for a poorly presented lobster roll ($48) and I could have had a better lobster roll at the Dive Bar for $28. The onion strings were cold as was the french fries. The lobster bisque was NOT well mixed and that too was LUKE warm…..Sorry but WE are NEVER going back again.

I have been to Chowder Heads many times in the past. If this had been my first visit I would not be going back. The menu has been changed with what seemed like less choices. The service was slow. My clams were so dirty I couldn’t eat them. The lobster bisque was runny but still tasty. But the biggest disappointment was that Boston cream Pie was not available. Since we have to travel almost an hour to get to there we probably won’t be going back anytime in the near future.

Restaurant has no ambience not a place for dinner. More like a seafood shack. The food and wait staff were very good.

Fish and Chips. 1 out of 10 on the fish, 4 out of 10 on the chips (fries) The service was ok. We will not return to Chowder Heads.
